If Neil Lennon even registered his interest it would be a huge compliment to our club. The guy has managed a massive football club in Celtic ( and without relatively big financial backing) and overseen some fantastic victories. Surely, his wage demands would be beyond our means and with the exact same reasoning we'll probably go for a much cheaper option i.e. promote from within. As attractive as someone of Neil Lennon's calibre might seem. Are you serious? Yes absolutely serious. Compared to other large European Clubs Celtic don't have massive amounts of money to splash about. Their spending power may seen huge compared to ours but that's not saying a lot is it? We are taking about a club that plays in European Competitions every season.

Said in another thread before, don't like the guy at all but I think he'd do a very good job. Ticks all the boxes.

I think he means vs other European teams, rather than other Scottish ones. So all in all quite irrelavant as the nearest he'll get to Europe here is Cardiff. It reminded me of this little viral image from his time at his previous club: He managed the team that beat Barcelona 2-1 in 2012, when Guardiola was manager and they were the best club team in the world. We couldn't get the fcuking ball off their B team....... Get real, Lennon managing Town would be a major coup

Why would he come to us though when he could wait and get a much better job?

Why would he come to us though when he could wait and get a much better job? Who Mackay or Lennon? I'd take either of them, and I can't stand Lennon either of them them would hopefully kickstart the club again.

I'd have him definitely, people say they don't like him why? Because he's driven? Because he wants to win? Because he doesn't take cr@p? He is a manager with lots to prove, a manager who wants to be successful and I like the fact he's not Mr Billy Big Balls who is expecting a Premiership job and is prepared to prove himself in the Championship. IF, and it's a big if, he thinks we fit his ambitions he could be the spark we need. He'd take control of 1st team affairs and wouldn't be dictated to in terms of selection and recruitment. As I said yesterday leave the football decisions to football people (but within our budget). If he delivers who cares what people think? But that all said I don't think we'll even look at him...sadly This a hundred times. Would have him in an instant. An appointment that would put us on the map, but sadly I don't think it'll happen.

He would probably do quite a good job tbh...
Don't think anyone would care about hating his guts if he got us promoted

The vast majority of football fans think Warnock's always been a tosser but most of us here would take him in his prime any day of the week. If guys like that deliver success you soon take a shine to them.

Perfect for HTFC ,tough lad from a tough part of the world and would be able yo instill the roll your sleeves up, dig in ,never give up attitude when games are going against us, A quality we are sadly missing in every department on the pitch

Lennon wouldnt give them a choice plus I think that his success is recent enough for the players to respect him instantly.

Definitely. Seems a horrible nasty piece of work from the outside but would be 100% dedicated to the cause. Top level experience and would inspire the players. nice people rarely succseed in soccer manegment. you need a nasty streak and although i doubt if he would really be interested i can think of a lot worse who have been mentioned but really non of us know what will happen. the thing we all do know is that its been a pr disaster and awfull timing .If Robins has gone on his own accord citing lack of funds the board should have said so not dress it up like they have. Like many on here a better explanation would not go amiss.

I'm not saying he isn't but is there a particular reason everyone seems to think he's such a nasty piece of work? Probably because he's Irish catholic Slyman.

Slowly coming round to this idea, passion, fire and definatley knows how to pump up his players, I still can't believe Celtic beat Barcelona! Feel if he likes it here aswell and higher end Champ clubs come after him he will show a bit of loyalty to Deano. Yep, I'd be happy with him. Have to say I agree, wasn't keen on the idea at first but he's starting to look like a good choice given the other names being touted Sent from my XT1032 using proboards

According to Alan Nixon he believes Lennon has applied. Unfortunately it seems Wilson has his heart set on Pressley or McNamara. Surely you cant ignore a man with his recent CV at our level. The man is used to winning football matches.

The man is used to winning football matches. If he has applied, that's great news. I don't like him personally, but like you said he's used to winning, worked with a massive club (even though i don't like them). Has good pedigree, wasn't too long he was linked with Norwich!!

Just to play devil's advocate for a second, as I think he'd be a very good appointment, but when you say 'he's used to winning football matches' I guess you could also say 'he's never had to turn around a bad run'. Actually I've just remembered about this and now I don't want him anymore lol:

Dislike the guy, but I think we need a fiery character, better than Grayson, and Robins, spark some life into these boys!

Also, any man who plays and manages through receiving death threats shows a good mental toughness that I'd want to see in our manager.

It would be typical town to turn down a manager who held Barcelona to a draw, won the Scottish premier title for umpteen years and instead go for a manager who managed in the Scottish second division and now manages in the English third division
