Its about time we had a manager that demanded the respect of his players, rather than expected it.

According to Alan Nixon he believes Lennon has applied. Unfortunately it seems Wilson has his heart set on Pressley or McNamara. Surely you cant ignore a man with his recent CV at our level. The man is used to winning football matches. I can just see it. Wilson: Hi Nige got a couple of names for you. Clibbens: They're not more sweaty socks are they? Wilson: Yes Nige, but these guys are top notch - Pressley from Coventry and McNamara from Dundee Utd. Clibbens: Presley? Was he a musician? Wilson: No Nige, wrong Pressley. Clibbens: Didn't we get our last manager from Coventry? Wilson: Yes Nige but this guy's good, he's got a win percentage of 19%. Clibbens: Is that good? Wilson: Bloody great for what we're gonna pay him. Clibbens: How about this McNamara, I've heard of him, he plays tennis; doubles. Wilson: Does he? Ah! Scrub him then. Clibbens: Anybody else applied? Wilson: Some guy called Lennon, he used to manage Celtic, and beat Barcelona once, and managed in the UEFA League, and won 4 Titles. Clibbens: Will he want to relocate all the way from Farsley? Wilson: ? Clibbens: Anyway I've heard of him, he's a musician isn't he? Wilson: Don't think so, but he's a ginger. Clibbens: Forget him, he'll clash with the training top.

Also, any man who plays and manages through receiving death threats shows a good mental toughness that I'd want to see in our manager. He wouldnt get death threats. He might get a newspaper programme thrown at him but not a death threat.

If we bring in Pressley then this club has truly lost the plot

P 228 W 159 D 30 L 39 win % 69.7. You could argue that he had the best team in the SPL but the games still need winning and to come to team who is bottom of the championship is probably a bit below where he should be. Would be a coup surely

Linked to our players if you believe everything you read and you could argue there is a link between him and Steve Thompson via Leicester and Martin O'Neill?
Edit, just checked, utter bollocks, they all didn't overlap at Leicester at all. Deals off.

Huddersfield Town have already had over 50 applicants for their vacant managers position since Mark Robins left the club on Sunday. #htafc

not got a clue if he has applied but if we are prepared to pay comp.for pressley,or anyone else surely we should save it and put it towards a better wage for a proven out of work manager? they reckon we have had over 50 apply, most will be out of work, why pay compo? if Wilson or clibbens picks pressley or another unproven guy, pays compo. for them when there are surely guys like lennon applying then this club really has lost the plot.

In all seriousness though, it's not surprising. We're actually quite an attractive club to work for, for reasons other than just the salary. History, facilities, championship level, best academy outside of the premier league, a non-insane chairman, and ambition for greater things.. a nice little challenge for football manager.

Its incredible that some on here say they don't want Lennon as our manager.....someone who has just managed one of the biggest clubs in the world. What do some people want???...Who do they think we are?

Cannot believe the guy will have applied... no way! But if he has, and we turn him down... then we deserve whatever lack of achievement comes our way.

I wouldn't have thought that Lennon would come here but if he was keen and the club picked Pressley or McNamara over him then we may as well give up. Anyone who realistically thinks we could attract someone better is seriously deluded.
Can you see someone like Lennon being stood motionless on the touch line whilst one of his teams was getting humiliated and had thrown the towel in ? Just the kind of character to give some of this lot a right kick up the arse.

If Wilson were to mess up a Neil Lennon appointment I think it would be very hard to forgive him easy to take him out back and 'terminate' his employment using a 44. Magnum. Is what you meant to say

Lennon would give the club a massive kick up the arse, not just the players, but the whole club - fans employees, everybody.
Lets have somebody that divides opinion, that isn't popular with the opposition supporters. Lets have some tribalism around the place.
The stage was set on Saturday, infact we even had green tickertape (hopefully none of you noticed). Its a fkin sign I tell thee.

Winner as a player and as a manager.
People need to put religious/political beliefs aside.
He has integrity, authority, great experience. It'd be a massive coup to get him here. Not impossible given what he says in that article.
For my money he'd be more likely than McKay who has managed at top end champs and prem for half a season, felt he was harshly treated and would probs be holding out for a job at a promotion hopeful.

Now is probably the best time we will get to bring in someone like Lennon, give it another month or so and bigger jobs will start cropping up. Still think he is out our league in terms of what budget he would want to work with but would love to be proved wrong.
