Did a great job at Charlton, wouldn't be against him at all.

Odds have shortened of late. In league 1 Charlton smashed it on a tight budget. Very unfortunate to loose his job and Charlton fans speak very highly of him.

Would much prefer him to Pressley, came 9th in the champ with the 2nd lowest budget. I'd be happy with him

Said when MR went that he would be my choice. Good, steady manager at this level and wouldn't be too expensive.

Suggested him as a replacement when Robins was still popular and got laughed at. Would have him here in a heartbeat.

Serious question, similar to one asked earlier, is he a motivator of men and has he got a steel inner which many feel is required to get the best out of our squad?

For all the Manager debate we've to be realistic in what sort of person we can attract. There are probably some decent Managers out there that may well apply, but for whatever reason they'll be up their own a*se and will demand all sorts of daft money...
Making reference to the greed of the modern game it also must be difficult for all but a few Managers to be having to manage employees who have crap attitudes, can easily cost them their jobs and yet they get paid scores of £k's more then they do...
Chris Powell comes across as a decent bloke and he'd be OK by me, but not sure if he's a London boy??
At the end of the day I don't actually think there are that many great managers out there and we just need to get someone who has a bit of guile or alternatively take a punt on a relative unknown who might just turn out to be a diamond...

Seems pretty good, but I really want a bit of a fiery character who will bring the whole club together...lee clark was a bit like that and the club seemed much more united..it's why i now want lennon i think. Someone who will come in and create a siege mentality, home fortress, hate from away fans etc...and the players will know they've got a fecking job on

I wouldn't be that disappointed with Powell, I'd be a lot more pleased with him than Pressley or McDermott.
I'd really like Lennon myself, might be able to shake our 1st team players out of the malaise they seem to be stuck in. Not sure if he'd fit our budget or club ethos though.

Steve Pressley according to the bookies although Neil Lennon coming up on the rails www.thesackrace.com/teams/huddersfield-town

Moved slowly down the odds - more likely than Pressley to me
Much more likely than some of the other names as well

Powell would be a better choice than pressley but Chris Hughton for me if not I'd chance Lennon.

Remember, when he was sacked at Charlton, they WERE low down in the league BUT they had several games in hand because of their good cup run. And they were playing on that bog of a pitch which never helped them (except against Doncaster!) I said at the time that it was premature to sack him because he'd would have saved them, but t'was not to be vecause he paid the price for a poor semi-final defeat to the Blunts. He has a football brain and I'm sure he'd do a good job here.

I don't think ours would be the right club for Powell. He's a real London boy thru & thru. We need a northerner I reckon. Someone with true northern grit. Lennon would be the man for me who could unite the club and bring plenty of good attention to the club.

One plus point, Ince would not be able to say he was not given the job because he was black if we gave it to Powell.

Have met Chris Powell very polite and charming person, could well be a very good choice. Just needed some financial support, well respected by all his players.

Where were they in the league when they sacked him exactly ? Bottom-ish but didn't they have about 5 games in hand due to good cup run and a bab pitch??
