Kluivert is in L.A according to his latest tweet. He must have failed the interview Well if we want to cling onto any hope of this happening, he did also post a picture on Venice Beach in California 3 days ago, so maybe his tweet is saying he's leaving?

To be fair Supermac said at least 3 of those goals were offside - As a Town fan that day is akin to the "you knew exactly where you were when you heard the news about JFK..." He also said in the Examiner the night before that he'd come up with a plan to stop City, no wonder he was a pisshead Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

Patrick Kluivert's agent tells Sky Sports News HQ the Dutchman is interested in Huddersfield job.
Came up on the newsfeed on sky sports news about 5 minutes ago.

Signing Kluivert as manager would intrigue not only the fans but the whole football world. He might not have had any managerial experience but neither did Clark before he joined us and Kluivert has played at the highest level there is and alongside some of the worlds best players. His appointment would be a massive coup for us.

I can confirm the sky news agent link, just seen it! Very odd, I thought this story was just pure nonsense.

Surely we cant turn down Patrick Kluivert, He would be a huge coup for us, was assistant under Van Gaal for Netherlands who finished 3rd AT THE WORLD CUP. Now he has openly come out and said he wants the job, I would imagine his preferred formation would be 352. He may not have the experience as a manager, but as a player he has huge experience and for me would already have the respect of the players.... Its bloody Patrick Kluivert after all.
I feel sorry for deano now, imagine the meltdown on here if he gives it to pressley, powell, Mcleish now Kluivert wants it!!!

I kind of agree added to the fact we would end up attracting some quality loans from Man U! Surely though this is just sensationalist news reporting.

Even if there is any truth in this, can we afford him?
Assistant manager for the Dutch National side, touted as a possible number two to Van Gaal an Man U, he won't come cheap!

Like? Does this guarantee anything - take Warnock at Leeds? McDermott at Leeds? Hughton at Norwich? You can only get experience by getting a chance!

So Sky sources are reporting this, but Skybet haven't shortened him from 25/1. Seems a bit of a contradiction. I wouldn't get too excited yet. Would be great though I must say. Also, I've got Sky sports news on now and I can't see any mention of it.

It is possible that he and his agent may be dipping their toes into the water to see if any club(s)are interested in appointing him.
But then,I am a cynic.

The fact that he seems hungry for The Town job is a bit of a game changer. If he was someone that we courted and was half committed then I'd want us to stay well clear.
As exciting as he is though, I still think we need a steady pair of hands.

We can if he is reasonable with his demands and see's us as a stepping stone to the real money in the Premiership. I struggle to see how he would see us as anything but. It all sounds a little bit too good to be true but its a funny old game. I'll dust my Cloggs off for Saturday

He's obviously looking to get into management, and he's interested in us.. surely he'll know he wont be getting massive wages like he would at a club like Man Utd. If he wants to reach that level he needs to prove himself at lower clubs before working his way up.

Impossible conundrum, employ some one with track record of success but ultimate failure or fancy name/unknown quantity with no experience of failure. Tbh when the unknown quantity was assistant manager to the Dutch national team and is a recent global footballing superstar I think I'd go for that over.........let's say Pressley who talks well at Coventry supporters meetings and is good mates with Ross Wilson from his Falkirk days!

I'd go for Kluivert now he's in the picture. Something completely fresh and can't be worse than the last three. All must have been mistakes as they got the boot eventually. You think? He could move us DOWN the table rather than UP it like they did. Kluivert would be an absolutely massive gamble based on nothing but what he says he thinks he can do if he had a go at being a manager.

He's mates with Gorre. Didn't they once make a pop record together and another player when they were at Ajax? Got to be better than Smile Awhile!

As exciting as he is though, I still think we need a steady pair of hands. Are you suggesting Van Der Sar as number 2?!! If even an ounce of truth in this, if there was he would surely come with requiring his own number 2 -... what sort of contract did we give Thompson (assuming Town would want Eyre to stay). Rolling contract?
