Why put in for a job and then turn it down?

Unwilling to relocate himself & family hence not showing the commitment to the job Dean is looking for, job would be his right now otherwise and still might be this week.

Would have Lillis before Powell any day of the week.

I don't see the excitement of another tedious appointment who failed and was sacked from a club at our level.
I'd be severely disappointed if Lillis handed the ropes to another bland short term unexciting manager like the last few.

Hope he has turned us down, very uninspiring IMO

I turned it down when Dean told me I had to bring my own packed lunches..I expect Powell has done the same..how is he expected to keep them fresh travelling up from London everyday..its just a nightmare scenario for his missus..
its funny really because im re locating in a year or so to Tenerife in the hope that one day im offered the managers job there, hows that for forward planning?

"Powell will become the only black manager in England's top four divisions if he is to be named Huddersfield manager." "if he is to be named" are the key words.

Would love to see Chris Powell get the job.
He certainly didn't fail at Charlton. He simply had no relationship with the owner. Charlton had a stack of games in hand and, just like Riga subsequently did, he'd have kept them up.
If he's a failure then no manager is qualified.

Powell has been a constant at the top of the betting unlike a few of the others and I think he could be one who would agree to work with the current back room set up, unlike someone like Lennon, Hughton, Davies, etc.

Rather Lennon or Hughton but will give Powell a chance.

Rather Lennon or Hughton but will give Powell a chance. Whoever is appointed should be given the opportunity to lose our support.

Powell now 1/5-1/7 so looks as though it will happen .... It only looks odds on because people who do not have a clue are putting their hard earned cash on him and must be like a comedy show for Mr Hoyle if far from the truth .
