Hope so because no fxcker has taken any notice for the last 2 years and we all know how HTFC staff like to read social forums.

Let me put it this way should we sign Leghton Baines, Ashley cole and Kieran Gibbs if they all become available before a centre half ??
No.. We need a centre half and have had long enough to have found one, that's the point.

We could do to strengthen, but I'd say our defence is now stronger than it was last season. Clearly the full backs are but not sure the centre backs are because its the same faces as this time last year less Peter Clarke. I still think we need a centre back. Still not convinced Wallace is Championship quality to be honest - he may make it but his pace is a real concern IMO, and it's not like Gerrard or Lynch are quick either. I think we need a quicker option at CB as we struggle with pace IMO

get chris wood in and whack him in the back 4.. he is a big enough peg to force into any shape of hole..
we have posted about a centre half and another striker for eons now but im still having hard work trying to think of one of either that we could;;
a. afford b. attract c. better than we have or significantly different to allow us to utilise different tactics.

Maybe time to extend our search into different leagues in Europe. Lots of other championship teams do, maybe we need a foreign manager.

That's the nub of the problem, there just aren't the proven players out there that we can bring and be sure they can improve the team.

Before anyone starts crying, I'm not saying I agree with it, but I think the club possibly feels the centre half problem is addressed already.
Gerrard, Lynch, Peltier (yes, I know, but I honestly think he was brought in primarily to play there), Smith and Wallace (and that big clown lad who messed up in the opening game but surely isnt actually THAT bad really?!) is easily good enough to perm two or three from when all are fit.
The way you improve your team is firstly look at your two or three preferred first choice XIs for the various systems you want to concentrate on, and you identify the weaker players and bring in improvements.
Gerrard, Lynch and Peltier arent our weaker players. Dixon is. Probably the least gifted technically in the 11-15 main players, and has a below par footballing brain to cap it off.
They seem to have identified that, and replaced him with someone assumedly better today.
The next question is, when everyone is fit, who is the weak link player. Identify him, and replace him. In a 3-5-2 (or the various other non 4 at the back formations) I dont think its Gerrard, Peltier or Lynch. When we're 4 at the back again its difficult to identify who should be sacrificed of Peltier, Gerrard, Lynch, Presumably New Lad.
The weakness is elsewhere. And its probably not Vaughan or Wells. Nor Cody or Butterfield.
So.....wouldnt surprise me one bit if the next signing was someone to jump ahead of whoever is the weakest of Ward, Hammill or Scannell. Or Hogg if we're talking a 5.
So...ANOTHER midfielder next. You heard it hear first.
Although personally I'd prefer a striker "nearly but not quite as good as" Vaughan. As whilst theres no reason to suggest it other than history, that seems an injury situation worth catering for, whereas normally you should just ignore injuries other than if a decent short term loan crops up. Its pointless bringing someone in until January to cover for Gerrard for example.

Pie in the sky.. He won't become available and we can't afford his wages. Don't give yours up either..day dreamer I offered you a scenario. To expose how silly your argument was . You haven't changed my mind It wasn't an argument, I stated an opinion. You used a pie in the sky signing, put a realistic name down and ask the same question.. My answer would be no sign a centre half as that is where we are desperately short. We can sort other positions later if necessary.

We can sort other positions later if necessary. I'd argue a front man is more of a priority. No doubt Vaughan will be injured soon. But I wouldn't be STUPID enough to pass over a quality centre half in the meantime if one became available

Again that would not be good enough , as there would be numerous requests for separate boards such as Drivel, Guff, Talking Sh*te, Insults board etc
