Selling your best players to rivals is not a very good idea . I'm sure dean said that would never happen again after the Marcus Stewart situation ."I'm not going anywhere near that again" he once said .thoughts? Think Marcus Stewart was slightly different and he was not the same as Scannell or Ward for that matter

Really hope this turns out to be true. A couple of decent performances does not make him invaluable to the club, quite the contrary. Get him off the wage bill and replace him with someone with consistency. Ideal.

Surely if he is off and we have accepted a fee we would have told him and his mindset wouldn't be right for this game

A solid performance, offered some attacking threat combined with some hard work. I'd put him down as a good l1 player on his recent displays.

I can see it now. We will sell Scannell and maybe Ward on Monday. Come Monday night, following several attempts at offering peanuts for a team's best player and being rebuffed, we will be 2 men short and in a worst situation than we are in now. Seen it happen all before. It would be a mistake to sell him IMO.

From the Millwall side, Sports reporter on twitter... Scannell situation is hard to call from here. #millwall rightly angered by how deal broke down yesterday. But Ollie still wants him in. If this was strictly a matter of principle, #millwall would walk away. At the very least lower their offer. Clock is ticking though. Into his final year. Wants to come... www.newsatden.co.uk/39757-millwalls-pursuit-of-huddersfield-wideman-in-the-balance.html

He's our player and we're still paying him, so it's up to us if we want to play him

200k seems a little cheap? Surprised that Town would take a 300k loss on him.
Edit; Actually just read it back and there was an improved offer. Still, seems an odd time to sell him.

I think Town drive good deals to be fair - both buying and selling Dundee United said our offer of £1.25m for Russell and Mackay Steven was an "insult" but hindsight is a great thing. They sold Russell 12 months later to Derby for £750k and now can't get Mackay Steven to sign a new deal so are trying to offload him before he goes on a free - bet they'd snap your hands off if we offered £500k They tried to rip Town off and we weren't having any of it - well done to Town IMO £1.25m wasn't that insulting and actually has been proven in hindsight to be a fair valuation

I'd keep him. Maybe it's clicked with him now or someone has had a word with him in the summer that he needs to work harder to make sure he has a good career. Yes it's only a few games and he's underachieved while he's been here but he's capable of being a very good Championship player and the simple fact is he's playing well now so why sell a player you don't need to that is performing for you?

Or maybe he is playing well to get a move and if that falls through he will go back to the same player we have had for the last 2 years(or is unless managed by Lillis)?
