Someone HAS been offered the job and should be confirmed in next couple of days hopefully. Although, it sounds like they've not responded immediately to the offer...maybe looking at the other available jobs too? Then we should rescind the offer, fuck him. If he has to think about it we don't want him here. Assuming what you say is true. Came from Paul Ogden. All sorts of legitimate reasons why it might take a day or two for the candidate to formally respond. Contracts to look through with fine tooth combs etc.

The appointment of Powell would/will leave me feeling the exact same way i did when Clark and Robins were announced; very underwhelmed. Hope I'm wrong this time, another poor appointment if it's true. London boy, did well with his boyhood club in league one with a massive budget. Did crap in the championship. Full stop. I'm afraid that's not what I class as been there and done it and that's why this would another shit appointment. May as well take a punt on a rookie.

Powell is 4/6 fav below him is Lennon doesn't want it? Lillis says in Yorkshire post sad it ain't him? Neil warnock at palace Presley really doubt it?? Hasslebank highly doubt it So we have Davies and hughton left for me realistically at 20/1 and 33/1 Sooooooo why is no one putting loads on Powell? Few quid on Davies and hughton if fails?? Where is otium has he missed this one?? I put a cheeky bet on Powell last week at 10-1. I also but a tenner on Mowbray incase it happened, to act as a buffer and cheer me up

No, that was doing what the bookies expected with the squad, budget and momentum they had. Being rock bottom the following season though could definitely be defined as 'doing crap'. One club man recently sacked from a championship club similar in stature to ourselves. Piss poor appointment, arguably worse than Robins and Clark and I thought the board had learnt their lesson this time. VERY underwhelmed if true but will get my support. At least Scans will feel at home with another cockney geezer he can chat to and they can share lifts back down south when they get home sick.

His contract will have all sorts of clauses in it after what he's been through since leaving Cardiff and the possibility of a ban. Someone's going to take another punt on him as he's been proven at Championship level and why not town? We'd take a bit of stick but who would be bothered if the results start going for us. Don't fancy Powell though but if he gets the job then hopefully he'll get the full backing and town push on.

Maybe, if they had a good working relationship thats why Hudson has ended up at Town despite interest from Fulham yesterday? He (MM) would have been at Watford when Wilson was there before they turned Italian too. Actually, come to think of it, it all stacks up. Potentially you could even read Deans "threat" about getting behind the next manager as having relevance if someone like Malky was top of his list. In fact, I'll say it.....Malky Mackay to be unveiled as Town manager. Tomorrow. Where do I collect my winnings?

I read somewhere he is suspended while the "allegations" are investigated? That could either take him out of the picture - or explain the delay. He is big buddies with Ross Wilson as well.

Seeing as though them down the road seam to attract controversy wouldn't put mm to be next guy in the hot seat there.

No chance of it being MM. No one will touch him with a bargepole now. It'll take a while before anyone will be brave or stupid enough to take him on again. That's a bit ott. He made a few silly comments but they were hardly ratial hatred. They were made in private texts. He's a bit uncouth that's all, but what manager isn't really. Not many. I think he'd be excellent at town. If welcome him here. Delivers good, well organised, well drilled teams. I think we will find there is more to it than just the texts.

I've been saying this for over two weeks now, ever since the game at Cardiff, but it seems it just passes almost everyone by.

I missed that thread Epsom. I only saw the texts which I don't think we're career ending in their own right..

Don't often post on here but can confirm it is Powell. Wouldn't go to any other southern club except Charlton but likes set up at Town. Will be confirmed today. Interestingly, info comes from a friend closely connected with WBA!
