This the same Wallace who is our equal top League goal-scorer?

(just kidding) Thank God for that. I need to erase all memories of that other Mark Hudson I saw. Don't do that again. I wield awesome powers

Notice he was captain at his previous 3 clubs. What are the chances of him getting the armband off Peltier. Do players just come in and get made captain (besides P Clarke)

Bloody international breaks.. Just want the boro game to come round now! I suppose it'll give us time to regroup & get players fit again.
Ex Cardiff CB pairing of Hudson & Gerrard to help stabilise at the back with Coady sitting infront, Vaughan & Wells fit, Lolley back & i think we can really push on!
Just waiting on the new manager now..

This looks like the Rob Page/Peter Clarke type signing that many were crying out for, already played 3 games up to last week so presumably match fit as well. Splendid work by HTFC I say

I think I'd play Gerrard & Hudson at CB. Smith & Lynch full backs. Both useful going forward. This back four would surely end our 10 year weakness at defending set pieces. I fancy a season of watching Robinson's long throw ins at the other end of the pitch though.

That boy was a genuine threat! I like lynch at left back. He's pacy, love his marauding runs but mainly I like the idea of having four defenders all aerially strong, if you include either smith or pelts at RB. Obviously we've signed Robinson to use him and Dixon has strengths too. It's great to just have options.

-------------------------------------Smithies -----Smith/Pelts------------Hudson-------------Lynch/Gerrard--------Robinson/Dixon -------Scanz-------------------Coady-------------Butterfield--------Hammill/Maj/Lolley -----------------------------------JV-----------Wells Lots of options now and also is there a place for Bunn ? Things suddenly got more rosy, eary days but surely with this squad and a little luck with injuries we will be ok this season Yes on the left where you have put Hammill.

Better than Norwood corners. Talking of Norwood, Reading possiblly got the deal of the (after Hudson) by signing Glenn Murray.

Murray will get goals & tbf Norwood will create some. I wasn't a huge fan tho. Too much of a luxury player but he'll probably do well there if they have some legs and ball winners alongside him. I'll look forward to seeing Robinson. Hudson's arrival makes us a far greater threat at set pieces too, another area we've really needed to improve on. Butterfield's corners were decent apparently.

Am I right in thinking we have bought Butterfield, Coady, Peltier, Murphy and Hudson... And still made over £2 million on transfers?? Bravo Perfect... Improved squad and pocketed a load of cash

COULD BE OUR MOST SIGNIFECENT SIGNINGS GIVES US MORE OPTIONS. As i said significent player but just still worried about our lack of pace defensivly but a good move all the same.

You can't have everything. Physically dominant defenders who read the game well, can bring it out of defence, have an eye for goal, are good leaders of men AND are pacy tend to be playing in the Premiership

I hope we are not confusing this Mark Hudson with the one that played for Town a few seasons back!

Who is this Mark Hudson chap then? I have heard of his name, but I don't recall seeing him play. Did he play regularly when Cardiff got promoted?

Cardiff fan in peace. This is a really good signing for you. He is a leader who can position himself very well, has a good knack of reading the game and intercepting and will make plenty of last ditch tackles and blocks too. His pace is non-existent but more than makes up for it with his other qualities. I was quite sad to see Hudson leave. When he originally joined he was a bit of a joke but went from strength to strength once he finally settled. He he great experience at this level and that is imperative for getting out of the division, which again, made me sad he left because his experience would come in handy this year. I see why he left though, first we've signed two defenders totaling up to around 10m (I know, ridiculous) so we had 5 defenders who could all be first choice if Hudson stayed. Second, unfortunately he is injury prone. He has failed to complete the last two seasons due to season ending injuries, however, he started our first game away at Blackburn and didn't put a foot wrong. Keep him fit and you have an excellent defender on your hands. He was outstanding when we went up, he and Marshall were main reasons why we did go up. I can't count on both my hands the amount of blocks or interceptions he made which saved us points, he also scored a few goals that year (which won us a few, like against you on the first day ) too. He is good at that, he scored 11 for us over 5 years which is a decent return for a CB. So I wish Hudson all the best with you, he's easily a Cardiff legend and will be held in high regard for a long time.

I hope he turns out to be better than our last Mark Hudson Presumably that's a first for Town - 2 different players with the same name Not quite. I have found nine others, most recently two Tommy Smiths, two Mark Smiths, two Alex Smiths, and at least one instance of three - William Smith - the legendary WH Smith, his son William Conway Smith and William E Smith. Smith seems to be quite a common name. There are also two famous Willie Watsons and two Lee Martins.

Other less charitable posters would call you an anorak. :-)

That other Mark Hudson did score a winner for Town against The Bantams at Valley Parade. So he wasn't all bad. Are you sure. seem to remember a booth header made it 2 - 1. You are thinking of Town's 2-1 win in 2005/06. This one was the following season. Hudson scored with an header after 25 minutes. The Bantams actually got relegated that season and I think it was the last time Town played at Valley Parade.
