Wallace has been unfairly singled out on here, has been much improved this season and I can see him playing a part still. He's better than League 2.

What are you talking about? he'll be a decent squad player. lynch, gerrard, hudson, wallace. 4 CBs, 2 positions.

Gerrard is injured and I wouldn't put smith and Pelts ahead of him as they are right backs.
I do however think that a loan would certainly be in the best interests of both parties

Wallace against Notts Forest in the cup was Town MOM Some people just have the knives out no matter how they perform ! I agree with both of those comments - with a real leader at his side he might just prove a lot of "experts" very wrong. He's a better passer than any other genuine centre back we have at the moment, he's been stronger in the challenge this season and he still has a lot of potential improvement in him.

One more question - who's our top scorer in the league at the moment?

Is Hudson a right sided centre back? Wallace is much better on the left ie Wallace was out of position at Watford.

Great bit of business today but the Scottish kid is growing up fast. Much improved this season and can pass out from the back. Reminds me of a young Roy Ellam, ungainly to look at, prone to a mistake but set to become a composed centre back....now if he had Cherry alongside him....

I agree that playing alongside Hudson would be good for him but I just cannot see us dropping lynch or Gerrard when fit.

Won't need to. Lynch will be suspended in a game or two.

Wallace against Notts Forest in the cup was Town MOM Some people just have the knives out no matter how they perform ! 4 days later he was rubbish IMHO. I don't get what he brings......not quick, a great header of the ball defensively nor a good reader of the game. Add to that concentration lapses and even at 21 I'm not sure he cuts it at this level. I hope he proves me wrong, but if we have a fit squad, Hudson, Gerrard, lynch, smith would all play ahead of him at centre back for me right now.

Sorry I was at Watford and to say he was rubbish is myopic and grossly unfair - we can't put our defensive frailties at Wallaces' door. For someone who can't head a ball he is the only threat we have at an attacking corner at the moment. He's not outstanding by any means but I have seen far worse, as much as I think he's a good player at times Dixon was much more of a weak link on Saturday. I don't think he's let us down at all this season.

With Gerrard injured, isn't Wallace our 3rd choice centre back? Always need decent back up.

Agree to disagree fella - I'm not for one min saying he's the worst we have had, but he gets bullied too easily IMO and his attributes don't outweigh the weaknesses! Totally agree re Dixon - that's why Robinson has come in. More mobile and defensively sound - Dixon ok at wing back but very poor defensively one on one at full back IMO.

Has Wallace ever had a loan away from us? I'd like to see what 6 months of consistent first team football alongside an experienced player could do for him.
Presuming we have the numbers to cover.
