@fl72transfers Reports that Leeds only sold Matt Smith to Fulham after they agreed to sign Luciano Becchio who snubs them last min to join Rotherham. Wow.
...awkward...

Even Watford striker, Troy Deeney, is taking the piss out of the white s**** And what's even better than that is he puts them down with some quality banter XD

Just read the replies to this tweet... Comedy gold
Also Cellino is having them for mugs! Selling any player than can command a fee and replacing them with nobodies from Italy on frees and loans! Brilliant!

Nightmare?? Hardly, we've brought in 15 new players and potentially some real gems. Adryan for starters, the kid could rip this league up for sure. You're judging Leeds fans from a few twitter comments? really ? Almost all that I know ain't really that bothered about Smith going, with the new signings we've made he was never going to be a starter anyway and someone had to make way as we've still got 8 strikers at the club now.
Sharp Antenucci Montenegro Doukara Morison Ajose Walters Hunt
Yes it could take a while for all these new signings to gel and some may not pay off. But this season was all about re-building and pushing for promotion next season. I'm delighted with the transfer window we've had, compared to the last few years anyway. There hasn't been this much optimism around ER for a long time, all we need now is Cellino to make the right coach appointment.
What I have noticed from checking all the other Yorkshire clubs forums from time to time is just how often you lot talk about Leeds, it's like you're obsessed with what's happening at our club more so than what's happening at your own. One thing I'm sure of though, we'll still finish above you lot this season but I wish you good luck anyway.
Keep up the hating, we love it : )

You keep clutching those straws kiddie toucher.
You'll find before tonight it's been the Lids fans talking more about Town and trying to make digs at us.
The winds of change...

Fair come back jumbosausage. Decent majority of leeds fans that turn up week in week out deserve better really.
With regards to our board some of the feelings probably relate to having had a lot of leeds wums on our board of late.
Tbf there's always a good turn out from both sets of fans for our games in recent seasons so both sets of fans enjoy the derby I reckon.
I think it'll be close who finishes top out of our clubs this year tho. Our squad appears stronger but a lot of your new players are an unknown quantity. You might have signed some belters, and to be fair we haven't managed it in recent years....
Here's to a good season and healthy rivalry.

The rest of this season is going to be interesting for sure, nobody at Elland Rd really knows what to expect from the new signings but there's certainly potential among them. The biggest concern is definitely Cellino, I genuinely believe he's here for the right reasons, in wanting to take Leeds back to the Prem but the the fella is a nutcase for sure. It doesn't really sit well with me having a coach and not a manager either, it's pretty clear from the Hockaday appointment that he just wanted a 'yes' man but lets see who he gets in next. Hopefully he's learnt that maybe he can't operate in the same way he did in Italy but god only knows what he's got up his sleve. One thing for sure it's never dull at Leeds. Anyway, are you guys happy with your transfer activity, couldn't you have done with another 1 or 2? I know you definitely needed another CB so Hudson should work out a good signing for you. As for who finishes higher, I guess we'll all have a better idea of that around Christmas time. And I know there's probably not many town fans that wish Leeds well, and that fine. I have a couple of town friends myself so I know! But honestly local rivalry aside I've never had a problem with town and would sooner you do well that some southern team. Good luck for the rest of the season.

He's there for the right reasons and his heart seems to be in the right place, but it seems pretty obvious he's a mile out of his depth.

Good luck for the rest of the season. I went to school in wakefield mate in the Deane/yeboah hey day so I'm used to leeds fans! I love the rivalry and sure, some fans- that deny we're even a rival etc are a bit of a bore. They tend to be those that don't go down ER tho in my experience. Personally, I'm delighted with Towns transfer business. Clayton gone who was a quality player but we made a good profit and his replacement Butterfield looks tidy & up for it. Majewski offers some guile that we've lacked in recent years and we have pace in Scannell, Hammill and Lolley. Hudson today is massive for us. We've badly needed a quality experienced CB as I've high hopes he's it. A manager worth his salt should have a good crack at the league this year and we should be safely mid table not pissing about with relegation. Sharp will get goals for you and yeah you never know what some of the foreign lads will do. Don't think anyone had heard of radebe when he signed. Cellino seems eccentric to put it mildly. After years of appalling ownership I feel leeds deserve better. Bit controversial as a town fan I guess but I don't have too much I'll feeling really. I find myself with my business head on and leeds is a massive club that is under achieving. I'd happily see Town, Leeds and even massive wendies up there challenging for the league. Teams with history unlike bank rolled Wigan etc. I hope for your sake Cellino settles down and puts the club's future at heart. A football club is party of a town's identity and foreign owners have a responsibility not to piss about with that. Good luck for the season, except our games Ofcourse ;-)

The only clueless deluded people on this board are half the people on this thread.
Everyone on here says Matt Smith is shit, yet as soon as Leeds sell him were in the shit, because we sold him and Poleon.
Smith clearly given a new contract so when he was sold he would be worth more. Good business by Cellino.
Look at Becchio twitter been begging to come back to Leeds all summer, if we wanted him he would be back by now, so him turning us down for Rotherham just wishful thinking.
I am not like most Leeds fans on here, not gonna say, Adryan and the rest are gonna be the next best think since slices bread when I don't know anything about them, but will give them a chance. Being honest though Smith and Poleon would any of you Town fans lose sleep over selling them two.

All of them agree, however, that they will have a dodged a bullet on Becchio and I would agree - massively overrated in first spell and rarely appearing on Norwich's bench I think most fans up and down the country love to see turmoil at Leeds (and you all love the attention). I wonder if Cellino is absolutely made for Leeds - and the outcome will either be a disaster or a triumph with nothing in between.

Interesting how opinions differ, personally I think it's been a fantastic transfer window for LUFC, Poleon was never going to make it sadly and is league one standard so good luck to him at Oldham, Smith I am a little sad to see leave as I like him, but he is very limited and doesn't fit in with the style of football we are trying to play so that is a sensible bit of business too. Becchio would have been popular but should never go back, better to move on, good luck to him at Rotherham, a club I like. Adryan is an exciting signing, as is Montenegro, Sloth looks very impressive, and we now have a very large, promising squad for the new coach, whoever he is, to work with, I know it'll take time but I for one am prepared to be patient. The club is debt free and moving in the right direction for the first time since 2001, the Hockaday debacle aside, I'm very happy with what Cellino has done so far.
I think Town made a very good acquisition in Hudson, a player I'd like to have seen at Leeds.
Looking forward to our upcoming game with keen anticipation.

Wow, a fairly reasoned Town/Leeds thread, whatever next...
Looking at the ER goings on from the outside you have to wonder what Cellino is up to. He seems like a complete headcase and you might have been better off Keith Lemon taking over...
Agree with the comments ref; Smith, I think you've done well to get £500k for someone that in my view had 5 mins of fame in some cup game for Oldham a few yrs back. Not sure how much you paid for him so can't judge if it's good or bad business.
Hope we do finish above Leeds but overall Yorkshire football is in the doldrums and rivalries aside no right minded folk should want this to continue for too much longer... It's a shame or possibly even a disgrace that we can't get at least 2 clubs into the PL from the likes of Leeds/Wed/Sheff Utd/Town etc.. For those who don't agree that money (spent in the wrong way) & the gravy train of the PL hasn't ruined football you only have to look at Yorkshire for a view to the contrary. Of all those clubs & even without being biased you have to say that Town are in the best shape financially to launch a sustained bid for the higher echelons...

As much as i hate to say it but matt smith is the kind of player town are missing (not for the first team i might add.. but as a squad player). Puts himself about, big lad, wins headers. Another 500k in cellinos pocket. He's certainly building a side. Quite what he expects them to do is the puzzling part. From the outside it all looks very disjointed.

Wow. I have read every post on this thread. I can't remember doing that for ages. An actual proper discussion between Town and Leeds fans. Cellino is a fruit loop, there is no doubt about that. However I think he is mad enough to pull it off. Not this season but in another one or two. I can't really comment on there signings because I don't really know much about them. But the out going's look like good business and will have improved what was a very dodgy wage structure. As for us, I think we have done ok. I'm still a bit concerned about a lack of pace in the back four. But the experience we've brought in will be a benefit. Particularly to Wallace who I think has great potential. A striker on loan and we're about done I would think. A manager would be nice too though I hope all the Yorkshire clubs do well. I'm sick of this London centric its grim up north bias. Yorkshire is the biggest and best, and by far the most beautiful county in the land. Good luck to all the teams of the white rose UTT.

I don't think I've 'liked' so many posts on one thread, ever! What a nice change to read a reasonable debate between two rivals without abuse and insult...very refreshing. Good luck to ALL Yorkshire sides. I just hope, for once, we finish top of the pile. :-)

After initially being put out about Matt Smith's surprise departure (seriously not bothered about Poleon but wish him well at Oldham) woke up this morning thinking it may finally rid us of the hoofball mentality we naturally had when he did play.
Slightly envious of your signing of Mark Hudson, would have taken him most certainly.
We expect another loan signing, maybe Steve Clarke as Coach / Manager / Lapdog (delete as appropriate)and we are set to go with virtually a new 15 who could be anything or nothing under the stewardship of our President who comes across as as mad as a bottle of crisps but surely has some kind of plan in place.

A big club with a control freak owner who wants a compliant coach to unquestioningly do his bidding and also be a willing fall guy if it all goes wrong.

I have my doubts about whether Clarke would relish working for Cellino, but I do believe he was classed as coach at West Brom and not manager, so maybe it could work.
As we are both in the market for a new manager right now it will be very interesting to see who wins this particular battle and is the happier with their man!
