I was all for easing him in last season and wasnt one crying for him to be starting every game, but given how we've looked the last few games i think its time for this lad to be brought in.
We are completely predictable and have zero creativity or drive. Scannel showed what we're missing when he came on but we all know he lacks end product and lolley has probably already, or close to, matched his stats. With the defense looking fairly solid i think we can take the risk and have lolley do a bit of swashbuckling
for leeds i'd have
smith-hudson-lynch*-robinson --------------peltier -butterfield-----------coady ---------------lolley -------stead**----wells
*wallace if not fit **new striker if possible
Id keep pelts in midfield as he will be bang up for it, and with him in there and the defense we have a solid base to let lolley drift about

I suspect that's a swear word in the Powell house.

Lolley looked very naive on Saturday. He lost the ball through carelessly running into trouble at least twice on Saturday. I like that he's direct and think he will be an excellent player, but think it would be very dangerous playing him on Saturday.
Scannell and Ward have looked much, much better whenever I have seen them this season. Ward started last night well, but faded and Scannell was the better of our front three in the second half.
My team of choice would be;
Smithies
Peltier Hudson Lynch Robinson
Hogg Coady
Butterfield
Scannell Stead Wells
Thought our midfield looked much more balanced last night than on Saturday, though Peltier slows us down too much in possession. The real weak spot, and I hate to single people out, was Stead. He tried and he does good things, but of the balls that go to him the majority come straight back and those that he does manage to hold up are often given away through poor control or careless passing. We've done some great business this summer, but I'm afraid we look set to struggle without a striker. We don't need anyone flash... Just someone capable of winning the ball and laying it off.

Until Lolley learns to release the ball I think he's a hinderance. He gets it, beats a man maybe 2 then keeps going until he's tackled. Twice he lost the ball in the middle of the field on Saturday and once he went for an impossible shot when I think it was Smith who would've been through down the side of the area if he'd looked up.

or put Hogg in Butterfields role if fit, with Butterfield replacing Majewski behind Wells

Lolley didn't fill me with confidence against bro on Saturday. He looked unsure of his positioning off the ball. Also after a couple of mistakes it seemed like nobody would pass to him. A loan spell in league one may do him well.

Swashbuckling? I suspect that's a swear word in the Powell house. Maybe like myself he has been seen the CBeebies show with his kids one time too many!!! Eye patch Pirate hat Swashbuckle cheer AAHHAARR!! How about getting Hammill back in the team. 8th best for assists in the division last season and best for Town. I see CP saying he's had a few knocks - that's the first I'd heard mention of it. He wasn't listed as injured by previous managers. www.football-league.co.uk/page/DivisionalAssists/0,,10794~20137,00.html

He has done nothing to win Powell's favour yet.
Scannell is the one who will have staked his claim for a starting spot after last nights impact.

Town got there only 3 point win by beat Reading in what i believe was a 4 -3 -3 with Bunn playing up front with Wells

They may think that looking at past good performances and taking the good from those and replicating it is a good thing! Then what would happen to coaching manual sales! It would be a worry indeed

Duane apparently had the same affliction called having a go and tryiong tom do something different, when Butterfield Coady(was awful last night) Peltier Ward Hammill or any other midfielder lose the ball theres not a clamour to loan them out so why Lolley ?

Lolley has hardly had a chance yet and needs regular games to learn and show what he can do - there's a great player there in time. Some people have no patience and are so critical it's unbelievable.

Because of his age and the jump in divisions he has made. I think with some regular starts at a slightly lower level, will bring confidence and some understanding. Then bring him back in Jan. Just a thought.

Why not play Majewski and play Lolley out wide in his natural position? With Powell essentially playing four defensive minded defenders and at least one defensive midfielder, we don't really need to be cautious with our attacking players.
