Tomorrow we have Patterson. . Playing at Crewe in development game. If he's fit and comes thru it maybe he can form a strike force.

Patton scored one in 5 when he first played for us.
Worth a try IMO.

FFS! He might not have set the world on fire whilst here but he has been prolific in the past. New manager and a long rest might be the catalyst to the Pato he can be. Let's try and give him a chance eh?

Let's try and give him a chance eh? define "prolific"? He's got double figures in a season twice and they were in the last decade - 14 in a season where he made 42 appearances (1 in 3) and 19 in 57 (1 in 3) Other than those two seasons he's made 423 appearances and scored 32 goals. Roughly a goal every 13 games. So we can expect a goal sometime around Christmas if we give him a run in the side....

Weve got this obsession to play 2 up front and 442 its stone age football ,move on dominate midfield that's were games are won and lost. Paterson or Stead partnering Wells wont improve from the recent hoofball, that's of if you want to go into games with the prospect of a potential draw and maybe a win if the opposition defenders or goalie fook up - no way will you outplay or outscore the opponents in the championship playing the way we did last 2 games imo

If fit Patterson should start IMO, the Wells / Stead Partnership didn't really spark any good chances on Tuesday nor did it Saturday (i know stead scored but apart from that, we looked very shy up front) so i don't think we could do any worse in terms of chances/shots on goal, i also think we need to play with more width and keep whipping the crosses into the box because the hoof ball is absolutely Danny Dyer to watch.

I am all for seeing new faces at the club, Especially when it comes to strikers, But before Deano spends some more money then Pato should be given his chance, No need for a new face up front imo, Pato was quality against Burnley away & Given that the distraction of clayton has now gone he maywell prove to be like a new signing himself, We should give him a run of games, He may well surprise us.

Paterson and Wells. Tried that, didn't work. If we want Wells to develop to a level where we can sell him on for a huge profit (which I'm sure Deano has said is part of our business plan), we need to buy in players that will compliment him. We must have identified targets as replacements for Vaughan long ago so what's the delay?!

Quick graph of Martin Paterson's goals per 90 minutes (league games only) throughout his career. Do as you will.

I don't rate Paterson. I didn't rate Paul Dalton until Jacko took over for his first spell either. Nor did I rate Jon Stead until Jacko came back for his 2nd spell.
New boss, new ideas - he'll probably be as crap as ever but whilst he's at the club, should be given the chance.
