Got a lovely letter from Ken today asking me to help the giants go from 6,000 to 10,000 fans next season. Good luck Ken but it's a no from me I'm afraid.

Think we might be getting one like that from Dean if the Wigan attendance is anything to go by

I get something like this every year. Later on I get a survey/questionnaire asking what the Giants have to do to get me to go from being an occasional supporter to buying a season ticket...
Answer is always the same ----- "Play on a Saturday afternoon." - I have no idea why they changed to Sunday (oh; sorry, Rupert told 'em to and, he who pays the piper etc...)
Really wish them well this evening and hope that, this year, they manage to go all the way and win the play-offs..

Hating/not supporting/wishing the Giants fail just because he's in charge is completely stupid IMO. They're a Huddersfield team and if you're from the town or support the town's football club, you should really be hoping they succeed (unless for some reason you support a different rugby team but support Huddersfield football club).
Them being successful can only be good for the town, they share the same stadium so their success should also benefit HTAFC, and a lot of their players are local/from Huddersfield which is more than what the football club can say. Hate the chairman as a person all you want, but wishing ill of the Giants because of him is a bit childish.

you are entitled to your opinion as am i. i have supported town for over 40 years despite some poor owners of which davy is the worse, the more that came to light about him the more i detest the man. if the rugby club getting battered causes him pain (mental or financial) then i,m all for it. fartown i didnt mind, hudersfield/sheffield giant eagles are just a fukin joke. mk dons of rugby. fartown were shit and stayed up because of a nice ground , then bought sheffields team. history dosn,t go away

Cheeky kin bastard, I particularly like the section for the optional talentbuilder donation of £5 that hasyalready been filled in.
Obviously struggling to fund the giants now he cant asset strip the football club to finance his hobby.

Whilst I wish the Giants well and do want them to succeed I got really hacked off with the frequent e mails sent unsolicited to me. I sent an e mail to them stating that as long as Ken Davy was anything to do with the Giants then I wanted no contact with them and it has stopped. The way he handled the share issue was a disgrace and I will not support anything that sees him profiting or benefiting in any way from my input.

We are talking here about the clubs life president. Davey would not return the clubs 40% shares even though the return was part of an agreement from when he purchased them . Kirklees council intervened by halting planning permission given to Daveys 100 MILLION K S D L HD1 PROJECT until the matter was settled and might have still been an ongoing situation had they not intervened. Davey eventually sold the 40% shares back to the club for a reported 2 million and a figure well above inflation for the measly price he paid. Sad day when our fans had to have T shirts printed to highlight the clubs plight for the return of the shares and thank god we now have Dean Hoyle at the healm.

If they get hammered every week like they are doing tonight then I might actually be tempted to start going and laughing at them.

You can buy a Dewsbury Rams season ticket for £140. We are trying to increase our support from 500 to 600

It's not davy being there that stops me from supporting giants - more that rugby is total fucking shite. It's mostly Davy for me. Partly his record as HTFC chairman, partly that they avoided relegation by closing another club down and stealing their league place. Like a less respectable version of what MK Dons did to Wimbledon. I do wish our Rugby Union side well though.

I was going to mention that before the glue suggestion, but I didn't want to upset anyone on here if they have family members are going through that. However, in all seriousness (which is rare for me on here), what else can it be? The bloke tried to leach HTFC in fact he did bleed the club of its assets and now wants the football fans to put some more into his beloved rugby club? If ever there was proof that the rugby club can't survive without us, this is it.

I feel sorry for the guy. He's done what he had to do to keep both Giants and HTAFC alive and kicking . The Giants have done very well indeed considering their limited support (OK,this evening was a big disappointment, should they have shut up the shop at half time?) There are only three ways of boosting crowds and I am not sure any of them work in Huddersfield. 1. Win more games 2. Play a more attractive style of football 3 Sign 2 or 3 outstanding Characters (e.g. big Sam Allardice and a gentle giant striker of colour we had a few years ago.) In the meantime, SING YOUR HEARTS OUT FOR THE LADS

The giants season ticket sales will be dropping as the prices seem to have gone up quite a bit with no cheap ticket offers any more. There's so many games on sky as well.

Davy's shenanigans has lost support from a large section of Town fans, appealing to them to attend Giants matches isn't on and is pointless until Davy isn't the owner anymore. So Ken you are appealing for more support I appeal to you as both a Town and Fartown supporter to be proactive by showing a gesture of reconciliation by first relinquishing the title of Huddersfield Town life President ! You reap what you sow ken. Gazump an existing bid, assett strip the club, bullshit the fans about it when they find out, insult the fans when they ask you awkward questions. try and stop them informing other fans, run the club as a cash cow for your other business interests Drive a wedge between the fans of the 2 clubs make as much money out of HTFC as you can all the time considering yourself Mr huddersfield sport.
Then hope Town fans are going to support you and your rugby club?? Can't see it somehow.

Sad day when our fans had to have T shirts printed to highlight the clubs plight for the return of the shares and thank god we now have Dean Hoyle at the healm. Making a wider point about T-shirts and protests... They don't get a lot of attention any more because they're happening at so many clubs. What's the catalyst for this chain of events? For me it's Ruperts insatiable appetite to gobble up any popular Sport to the point he can eventually asset strip and provide his consumers with a top class 'product' whilst the backbone of that sport and grass roots goes to pot... For those that will say RL would have died if it weren't for him I'd have to point out the fact that there are clubs still surviving because the fans and the community still support them, something that's happened for decades. They'll be around long after Murdoch but just a shame that the manner of their existence will be impaired due to the fact Sky get firmly into bed with the ruling bodies of the Sport and they become puppets (a la Scudamore...).
