Me too mate. I was gone on 80 minutes. Only one thing to do after a defeat like that, but bloody hell, it's a right hike back to the city centre. Its is, don't know which way you went, we've nailed it after going regularly, over the motorway footbridge through Holbeck ghetto, down past new regenerated high rise flats and through the industrial estate onto Bridgewater Place and under the 'dark arches'. Going through Holbeck can be very dodgey. I remember back in the 80's and the Police escorted us all back through Holbeck and all those old houses being pulled down, wasn't long before house bricks and roof slates were raining down on us, my mate was convinced the Police took us back that way on propose.

Powell believes that defending starts just outside the box. This is clear from the set up of the team wether we have one or two up front.
given that town can concede whilst attacking or concede whilst everyone is back it seems sensible to me to say fuck it and just pick a team with full attacking intent and try and score more than we let in.. get a target player in to help wells and get majewski, hammill, scannell, lolley, ward in 2 shifts in a game to constantly take the ball forward and get up and support the strikers.
at least give the opposition something to consider before they just push up and sit in our half???
desperate times, desperate measures?? defending and losing away from home and defending and hoping to draw at home is very, very desperate and very, very dull.

The Police escorted you through an area just to get bricks and slates thrown at you? did they have 'invisibilty cloaks' on then ? or did they believe that the leeds fans were excellent shots with half charlies? ?

They put buses on to get us all to the ground and kept everyone behind for 30 minutes afterwards. I think it was November, but anyway it was dark after the game and it took about 30 minutes to get back to the station. My mate was referring to the fact "why didn't they bus us back to the station after the game".

the above row between 2 posters is on the wrong social media outlet..
faecesbook encourages insulting and pointless tirades..cyber bullying is positively applauded there..
on here, we fall out but you really should make a valid point or give an opinion.. name calling isn't either really..
remember, everyone on here wants to watch town win a football match, in the end we don't really care how or if anyone sings the right songs in the right place in the ground, etc etc..
we would all appear to be in the shit TOGETHER...

Can't believe comments regarding Powell - he's had less than 2 weeks in charge & only 3 games yet already he's supposedly doomed us to relegation!
He's inherited a bunch of players that are either under achieving or not good enough or both but let's give him a chance to sort it before having a go. Yesterday was painful to watch believe me and if the first 3 games aren't exactly what we had hoped for we should have had a point against Boro, we were more solid against Wigan if not exactly free flowing and yesterday, yet again, we made more stupid defensive mistakes which need to be addressed very quickly as in 2 games it has cost us the chance of points.
Comments regarding Hoyle are pathetic; I don't see a queue of investors coming to take us over- we are a small Championship team, with a small if not loyal fan base. He's rescued us, invested millions and now saying we need to make what we have work better but if what we have is rubbish I'm sure he will support the Manager further.
We need at least 1 striker before Saturday, some hard work on the training pitch and 3 points on Saturday which I think we will get and things will look a bit better but I don't think mid table would be a bad result this season and a realistic expectation.

Lots on here moaning about the time taken to appoint a new manager, perhaps we had one in Lillis the players definately responded to him better than they have to CP but thats history. Where do we go from here ? Heres some suggestions...Peltier is a bad influence imo should never have been brought back. He waited for the Ref after Charlton unsavoury scenes in the tunnel, then again he tries to get at Leadbitter and offered him out in the tunnel after Boro. Give the captaincy to Hudson, this is pro football tough shit if it hurts Peltier's feelings. Get a loan striker in before Millwall. Give Murphy a chance create competition. Get Hammill and Radi back in. Go back to 3-5-2 we competed this time last year with this and played a passing game, control midfield and have players in midfield able to create chances... ----------------------------------------------Murphy ------------------Smith/Gerrard-----------Hudson---------------Lynch --Hammill---------------Coady---------Majewski------Butterfield--------------Dixon --------------------------Wells/new signing--------------Bunn/new signing Subs: Scanz Hogg Robinson Ward Smithies Lolley Wallace WE HAVE SOME GOOD PLAYERS WITH THE RIGHT MAN MANAGEMENT,SET UP, FORMATION AND BELIEF we can climb to safety Not 3-5-2 we don't have players capable of the defensive part of being a wing back. 4-3-3 on the ball dropping to 4-5-1 off or if you like 4-2-3-1. To be fair to Powell none of these are his players. Its going to take time for him to work things out. The sad fact is games come thick and fast and its already looking like an up hill struggle. I'm concerned but I haven't given up yet. We can still turn this around.

UTT People keep banging on about defensive mistakes and set pieces but seem to miss the point that in the last three games we have been by far the worse team. That's the reason we are losing, forget the type of goals, when you are much worse than team you are playing you will lose, the type of goal is largely irrelevant. Before Powell we were competing and I agree cutting out defensive mistakes was important. Now however we have a very fundamental issue that the team isn't competing any where on the pitch, doesn't have any possession and isn't a threat, it's inevitable that they will concede, it's just a matter when and how much of an appetite the opposition have to score more. The mistakes are just a symptom, we are losing because we are a very poor team all round. Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

He sounds like he's making his excuses already - ie it's a big job. That is worrying Is Lillis a genius? No is he chuff but he got more out of these players than Powell has to date Smithies, Peltier, Dixon, lynch, Gerrard, Hudson, Hogg, Majeski, Hammill, Butterfield, Scannell .. have played around 100 games or more at this level (I won't count Stead as he's past it) Robinson, Ward, wells, Smith are hardly "green" either at this standard So why are they looking league one now? When they've been established Championship players for years Precisely, there is absolutely no way in hell that this squad is anywhere near as bad as some make out, the past three results are purely down to the painfully negative approach taken by Powell, and his seeming lack of intention to actually win a game. Got to agree with this. The squad isn't the problem. It's attitude might be. But not it's quality. So you have to question the guy who is telling em what to do. Wether he's been here a minuet or a century is kind of irrelevant. "It's my first day" is like the classic McDonald's greasy students classic line. So don't let powell use it, and don't use it for him!!
