So Chris Powell has had a very tough start to his town managerial career, thats plain to see. It's still early days for him yet though, i'll reserve judgement until at least 10-15 games in. It is shaping up so far, that our team does look inadequate at this level (at this moment in time), but as we all know. This is a 46 league game season. We're only 7 games in thank god! Another 39 to go, 117 points to play for. We've got a trouncing today, but there has been bit parts where we've looked OK. We all know we need a striker that will be clinical (problem is now, who will want to come to a struggling team?). But the truth of the matter is let's not get too negative, although it is difficult to be positives in the down times, but rather than thinking emotionally, lets look at this logically. Now i'm not looking on here with town coloured glasses, and saying don't worry we're going to be OK, back Powell, Back Deano and the board. BUT as fans, as supporters, the players, the coaching staff and as a club, we need to stand our ground and fight. Momentum is the hardest thing to gain, yet the easiest thing to lose. Winning is a habit and unfortunately so is losing. Do I think we're underachieving? Well, not to the extent of what Deano thinks, but yes slightly. But, at this level we're weak, other clubs have strengthened we've only replaced in my eyes. Do I think we need a striker? Yes. Do I think we're relegation fodder? Not yet. Is Chris Powell the right appointment? Time will tell, but he's going to get 110% of my support. Relegation, Safety, play offs or promotion. Do I feel good losing to them twats down the road? Do I fuck, not when I live with a twat. We all know the phrase "Sometimes you win, and sometime you lose"... Of course on the football pitch results show that. But, i'm a firm believer in "Sometimes you win, and sometimes you LEARN!" - Unfortunately for us as a Club, we're just not learning quick enough. An Army of Lions led by a dear, is not an Army of Lions. We keep talking about having leaders on the pitch. In our team we have some creators, role players and distractions. Let's see who the creators are when the chips are down, these are the boys who are looking to change that, I think Hudson may be one, as will Powell. Who else will step up? Winning isn't everything, but wanting to win is! We can talk about team selections all day long, bringing in a striker, bringing in a defender, changing managers etc and so on and so on... But let's while we have it work with what we've got, get behind everything, be loud and proud, and let's pull our club out of this dire situation. Calling relegation this early is extremely premature. We need a run of 3,4 or 5 games, to climb back up, at this moment in time it's hard to see where that's coming from, Leeds have shown what can happen. I'm happy for someone to retweet, repost this come the end of May, and see where we're at. But, i'm going to try and remain positive, at least for now. Nothing a beer or 2 won't help thats for sure. Football is an emotional roller coaster that we have to live with, but if it was all plane sailing we'd lose interest early in our lives. I'd much rather be the team that started off slow and finish strong and make a late surge for play-offs than the team that starts really well and peters off towards back end of Christmas. "Success is going from failure to failure, without losing enthusiasm" - Winston Churchill See you all at Home Vs Millwall.

How do we explain this?
Are the players really not up to it?
If they're not, fine. Don't blame them - blame who bought them.
Is it just confidence?
I'm pretty sure players (unless they are very unhappy going to work) don't cross the white line not intending to win.
I hope I'm wrong, but from what I've seen and heard this season, they are not technically good enough, not strong enough, and not fit enough. They simply don't seem to be able to compete. I'm not saying they're not trying hard enough - I'm saying they're doing what they can. It just doesn't seem to be enough for this level.

Sort your fucking heads out we've played a fraction of the season.
Calling Powell clueless after 2 games really...
DATM is shit. Full of moaning tarts.
It's utterly depressing to read these days so bore the shit out of each other but I won't be reading it.

yep, we are gone, absolutely rotten from the top down, no exceptions. Manager appointed once the transfer window has shut, which means we dont have to spend, cheap option with the manager, best players sold season after season, with the excuse to balance the books and a good deal for the club, which is the ready made excuse when we then buy on the cheap and spend a fraction of the transfer fee on the replacement. You sell your best player, you HAVE to use the money to strengthen. We signed players, didn't we? All 3 managers we've appointed just after the deadline day, coincidentally is just that, a coincidence. Clark signed Wallace and Higginbotham for reportedly about 800k, Grayson signed Neil Danns, on approximately 30k (between us and Leicester) and we've signed, what 3 players is it, between Robins and Powell?

Leeds fans are right. No fight, no urgency and a clueless manager. Yeah that's right! POWELL OUT! Our squad is poor. We have sold our best players over the past 3 seasons and haven't replaced them with players of a comparable quality. Our squad is a bottom six squad. Not true at all, this squad is more than capable of achieving a mid table finish, (with the addition of a striker of course)

Their keeper could have sat and read a book. Even a terrible side ought to be able to have an effort on target.

what good is signing players then getting shut of the manager? Especially appointing them just after the window has closed, leaving the new manager with someone elses signings?

We have sold our best players over the past 3 seasons and haven't replaced them with players of a comparable quality. Our squad is a bottom six squad. When you play a right back in midfield, a striker on the wing etc and select players like Stead over Bunn, drop Scannell etc, throw in a lack of motivation (even in a derby) and then try and get a team built on a football ethos to play long ball ... is it any wonder we look clueless! The squad is okay and up to the required standard but they are being sent out on a matchday looking and playing like a hungover pub side on a Sunday morning!

Atleast Hogg is back!
It's a statistical fact that we're better with him in the side...apparently

I'm not surprised. Living on borrowed time is this club. We needed to kick on and we've gone backwards. Shit team selection today with absolutely no ambition to win the game.

He's only been here for 3 games admittedly it hasn't been great but he needs time to get to know the players, and he'll be a lot wiser after today about 1 or 2.

Like you am not sure. The players we have should be able to perform somewhat better than it has appears they have, yet to see for myself this season. Powell great appointment according to some yet already the knives are out. I do despair at times maybe I am lucky at not having to have witnessed it at first hand!
