and to say 95% on here were happy for him to go Millwall.... Class act today. mute point, as based on what he had shown up to that point when he was given the opportunity, they were not that far wrong. but this season, wow, I'd gladly pay a million for him the way he is developing. what a performance today. well done to him deserves the accolades.

scannell requires the ball a lot to have a good game, he wasn't getting it often enough in the right place before.
he isn't the greatest at getting back and doing the donkey work so its nice to see us say balls to it, let him play.
it was about what town did today, good and bad, not what the opposition did, so the result was always in our hands and up to us.. good to see.

Scannell, Hogg, butterfield, holt, bunn, but I'm going to mention one man....... Powell... The players want to play for him, his man management is superb. I wasn't overwhelmed at his appointment .... I can tell thee now I'm excited

Scannell has probably been our most consistent performer this season. Who'd have ever thought that possible

Holt put a huge shift in,which allowed the midfield 5 to dictate play, mom for me Butterfield I was up as soon as he hit that shot, great strike, scannel was great too, he just seems to me to panic one on one, cue abuse lol. Great team performance,I can't remember as many clear cut chances for a long while

I think Scannell like most but really it could of been out of him,Hogg, Bunn, Holt maybe even Hudson not including the 2 minutes before half time (not really his fault but still)
Thought Smith had a good game I rate him much higher than Peltier.

Front six were excellent. Back five were a mixed bunch.

and to say 95% on here were happy for him to go Millwall.... Class act today. I wouldn't agree with that at all. The vocal minority perhaps but Scannell has lots of fans and even many doubters always recognised his undoubted ability at championship level, they just bemoaned his consistency, which was fair enough. I would say 50% were happy for him to leave.

too many good performances today to single anyone out. Have to agree the best 6 or 7 defo players scored at least 8 out of 10. Great to see Scannell and Hogg looking the part though Bang on mate, MOM, perm any one from 11. suberb team performance....

Best team performance by Town in a VERY long time!!! Positive attacking football that, at times, was almost sublime.
Sean Scannell the icing on a (very tasty!) cake. (Take a bow Mr Powell.)

Under Grayson, Lillis first time and Robins he did not put a shift in and did not deserve to play. Now he's finally playing somewhere near his potential after 2 years, but as Lillis said today he's achieved nothing yet. The only player who 'ruined' Sean Scannell was Sean Scannell.

How was lynch today ? Is he getting better and more reliable alongside Captain Hudson ?
Any replies from those who get to the games would be appreciated.

I've always been a Scannell fan - his potential is there for all to see, even when he was getting slagged off by the ignoramuses and 'know alls' on here. I hope Town can persuade him to stay and are working on this right now!

Decent, not without fault but looked pretty strong. Every 1on1 I remember he came out on top. I think (as had been said on here before) that he has motivational issues, when things are good he's a colossus but he can be nervy when things are uncertain (like us lot)

I thought he was solid - he certainly seems a different player since Hudson has arrived. I agree with all those praising Scannell and Hogg but I would also mention again Connor Coady - he does a massive amount of work, reads where the danger might be and breaks things up and does the simple things exceptionally well. A massive difference to anything we've had for a few seasons. One negative note - I thought both our full-backs were a bit weak defensively and the Blackpool wingers/forwards got in a hell of a lot of crosses. Scannell continually skinned their full-back but ours struggled a bit too.

There were quite a few Town players today who could have got MOM but Scannell was brilliant and just a pity he didn't score.

MOM today was the chef who cooked my curry I picked up 40 minutes ago! Absolutely delicious it was and tops off a great day.
No doubt about it for me, it has to be Scannell for MOM today. He made two goals, hit the post after that amazing run in injury time, and would have scored in the first half if their goalie hadn't pulled off another great save with his feet. These were the highlights but there were so many more moments as well where he showed real quality; he really put on a show today.

Thanks for the replies. It does sound like Hudson has settled Lynch down a bit, another quality signing !! Pretty quiet game for the centre backs- I doubt they'll have an easier one. So quiet they were guilty of switching off at times. One new thing I noticed about Lynch today was him trotting up to give Bunn a pat & well done when he was subbed near the end. Also he was looking out for Coady when heavily tackled in first half. Signs he is more engaged with the team and showing his experience- was good to see. I think Powell has had words with him too- what he can offer and expects from him & lynch is responding to it.

I have been Scannells biggest critic. Seems like he was the man today. If he keeps on i will be pleased to have egg on my face. Mazy skills dont make a top player but....well done fella.
