As few said always said play this fella regular and this was always gonna happen ..well done Scannell ..
ALSO
Not having a go at Danny Ward but this is what he needs to be doing if he wants a place in the team as this is the standard of wing play,

Scannell was my man of the match today. The way he ripped their left back/s up at times was almost embarrassing for them, above everything I love the fact we have a player that not only has the ability but now has the confidence that when he gets the ball it will be no surprise if he flies past 2 or 3 players with ease. He's getting better week by week and he's working his knackers off tracking back as well. I'm not an "I told you so" but I've always tried to stick up for him even though in general he hasn't been good enough because I'm close to a couple of Palace fans and they've said numerous times that a run of games and someone to put an arm around him and he would be a superb player for us. It makes no difference to what he does on the pitch but from what I've heard he's a really nice lad as well.
I thought Butterfield had a cracking game as well as Hogg and Holt.

The whole idea of individuals reckoning they were lone voices in scannells corner is false and annoying. Plenty of us could see his potential and ability. I too have a good friend a palace fan and he was v surprised when they let him go. Proper Croydon boy is Sean & sound as a pound too so I'm told. So exciting to watch as u say Slyman. Onwards and upwards.

How was lynch today ? Is he getting better and more reliable alongside Captain Hudson ? Any replies from those who get to the games would be appreciated. I thought he was solid - he certainly seems a different player since Hudson has arrived. I agree with all those praising Scannell and Hogg but I would also mention again Connor Coady - he does a massive amount of work, reads where the danger might be and breaks things up and does the simple things exceptionally well. A massive difference to anything we've had for a few seasons. One negative note - I thought both our full-backs were a bit weak defensively and the Blackpool wingers/forwards got in a hell of a lot of crosses. Scannell continually skinned their full-back but ours struggled a bit too. He seldom stands still, making himself available to receive a pass or cover a breakdown. Unlike the majority of midfielders we have had in the past few years he is capable of doing this for 90+ minutes. I was particularly impressed with his work today for the first goal. After receiving the ball from the superb Scannell he tried a cross, with his right foot, that was blocked by a defender. He then accurately centred the rebound, with his left, for Holt to head home between goalkeeper and defender. How the BBC could describe it as a scruffy header is bemusing.

Scannell is clearly one of those players who needs games to get properly fit, under Robins he was in and out which meant he didn't have the fitness to carry out the role he was being asked to play.

The turning point I think was Reading away My complaint about Scannell has never been about his application or ability, but more about that every time Robins started him last season (8 times last season) he immediately dropped him for the next game..... so no wonder he never got match fit and lost confidence. The season before Scannell started each of the crucial last 7 games as we battled to stay up, so what happened in between times I don't know. The blame lies squarely at Robins' door for the fact we nearly offloaded him.. Thankfully both Lillis and Powell seem to have better man management skills. As for Harry Bunn, well the way he calmly chipped their keeper for his 2nd goal reveals a cool headed finisher to go along with his superb wing play...

A lot of good performances, but has to be Scannell for me. The sort of player you pay to watch.
It didn't stop him getting berated by an old fool when he hit the post and minutes later didn't score from a rebound: "Scannell yer shit!". I was lost for words.

I do think our midfield works better than the 2012/2013 squad, I do not necessarily think they are better man for man, but we seem to have a good balance and they are more mobile. Who told Hogg he could tackle, he put some crunchers in yesterday, and I seem to recall the one (or two) that led to our goal.

We all know and have known for ages the potential this team has. It's just taken a sound head to get the tactics suited to the players we have a Powell has sorted that! We looked like world beaters for the first 30 mins yesterday absolutely brilliant!

Remember "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down". Scannell's a bit like that, they can't push him off the ball - he just bounces back. He doesn't seem to have a lot of pace compared to some wingers, it's just that defenders can't get near him.
He has the beginnings of becoming one of my all-time favourite Town players.

Scannell and Bunn in line for long contracts, I'd say.

Front six were excellent. Back five were a mixed bunch. Agree with that, other than I wouldn't include Smithies in having a mixed day, thought he was excellent and made a really top drawer save to stop it going 3-3 (and I think we'd have done very well not to lose it from there myself). Got a bit lucky with that shot he got his fingers to which dropped on the post cos i thought he was going to knock the rebound in, but he deserves a bit of luck. Hudsons been great so far but I thought he struggled a bit in the air yesterday. Both centre backs did against their 2 big forwards and Lynch didn't cover himself in glory on their 2nd goal. And both full backs has really good and really not so good moments. But it was a great game. Could have easily finished 10-4.
