He showed why we got rid . Pedestrian Bit harsh Not at all imo. Top guy, great captain but we'd be struggling if he was still playing. Hudson twice the player PC is. Not meant as a dig at PC as he's one of the best captains we've had as he showed on many occasions (pen at Wembley when it was all going wrong, the only player to come out of that Millwall away play off game with any credit...). Dont think there was any doubt he'd get a good reception

Always welcome here & deserved the reception he got yesterday! Think Pilks will get a decent ovation when Cardiff visit aswell.

Aye he possibly did. Some great blocks/challenges as well tho. Lynch looks a lot better with him. Good steady performance yest. Between the two of them they cover what you want from a CB

As a matter of interest, I briefly spoke to Gerrard yesterday. I asked when he might be ready for the first team. He said, somewhat tersely, that he'd been 'ready for two months so how long's a piece of string?' Oh dear - not right happy.

Funny how so many people are blinkered by the blue and white stripes. Yesterday's performance was a typical Clarke performance. Below par.

stated before, never closed my eyes to Clarke's performances..spent too much time and energy making last ditch stuff because of his initially dreadful positioning..another back 4 yesterday who didn't know where he was going to be at any given moment.

Yeah, but a great man and gave his all for the shirt unlike many players. The reception at the end was good too. Our central defence now though is decent even though I'm not a Lynch fan.

He's our most important defender. Take him out and you change the dynamic of the team. We suddenly have to defend 10 yards deeper, are suspect to a long ball over the top and the gap between midfield and attack widens
