What's the score with this lad? Injured or just out of favour? No call to change a winning team but surely he needs game time. Maybe a loan?

I don't think we saw this coming when we signed him. Hopefully he can get himself straight and prove an asset to us cos so far he hasn't

Probably just adjusting to the rigours of FT football. Most have been at academies, dropped to non-league but then risen again. He left Brum at 16 so never really had the full fitness most young players get to even if they don't make it into a first team.

Is he not showing any promise then...always a bit of a gamble I suppose when they have come from so far down the leagues but there was a bit of competition for him as I recall ? Joe Lolley is another of the same mold I suppose but his fitness problems seem to be holding him back...

From what I've seen of him, when he is fit he will be bang in competition for a starting berth so it would be daft to loan him out imho. Our current system would be perfect for him.

Joe Lolley - Picking up lots of injuries since his transition from non-league to Championship - questions to be asked about Town's fitness people perhaps. If he gets over them then he'll make the grade nailed on.
Carr - fit as a fiddle every week and looks shit for the U21s every week. I'm at a loss as to why we are persevering with him.

Another gamble that looks like it won't pay off is Jake Carroll - only on the bench for Partick yeaterday - long way from being Champoionship standard it would seem and at 23 he's not really that young
Our best business in terms of picking up cheap prospect comes from the Man City connection, Eyre with Smith and Frankie Bunn with Harry. Man City release a lot of good prospects so would like to thing we could pick up one or two more from them

Been watching Town for 48 years now and there haven't been many seasons where you could say the first choice players had competition for their places. Some may be injured but when you consider the likes of Vaughan, Dixon, Gerrard, Hammill, Lolley, Murphy, Wallace (who has improved),Majewski, Peltier, they could all slot into the team and do a job. Good time to be a Town fan.

Should give us an advantage over the Rotherham's and the Brentford's etc.

At 23 now you'd say there's prob not much chance of him breaking into the team. Think he'd be steady away in league 1 Cant see Carr making it. Bojaj/Coughlan will prob get a shot before him Lolley def good enough but needs to sort his fitness out. Looking injury prone at the moment though

Carr needs to actually go on loan to a league two/conference club and play a good standard of football. The u21s is not that good a standard compared to proper competitive football.
Carroll's defensively sound but isn't Championship quality. Will have a decent career in the lower leagues.

I'd send him on loan definitely. A few months of regular professional football would do him the world of good and he isn't going to get that here yet. His game still needs a lot of work. When to release the ball, awareness of what's going on around him and when you look at our current wingers then work rate/tracking back if he's going to slot in. All this will come with game time (along with fitness) so it seems sensible to me to let him go out and get a run of games in League 1 if possible.

It's time Town just allowed the manager to pick and buy players instead of these trouser polishers at Canalsiode recruiting and spending money on Scottish second division, non league and, dare I say it, division 1 players... waste of money most of them and I include Lolley, Wallace and Wells amongst them... look for castoffs from the Premier and Championship.. guys that have proved themselves..

Hudson from Cardiff. Scannell from Cardiff. Lynch from Forest. Coady from Liverpool. Smith from Man City academy. Bunn from Man City academy. Holt from Wigan. Butterfield from Middlesbrough. Robinson from Liverpool via QPR. Hogg from Watford. They was our outfield starters on Saturday so i don't get your point re our transfer policy? Are you saying we should have a squad exclusively made up of premier & Championship players?
