It's understandable to be slightly shocked, due to the circumstances with the ownership and everything, but they've only taken 27 points from 105 since the turn of the year.
Personally, I'm shocked he's lasted this long!

I felt so sorry for a lot of their fans this weekend. Completely demoralised posts on Championship forums and a lot of fans saying they wanted Clarke out but couldn't see him going. Maybe Clarke going may offer them something more positive for the rest of the season.

Be interesting to see how his successor does which will ultimately determine whether the problems were with the manager or they run deeper and higher up.

Bottom line is he didn`t even have the budget to take Oscar Gobern on loan.

That moves Chris Powell up to 79th in the current longest serving managers league.

Axes are really starting to fall now on managers, glad we had the chance to appoint Powell when we did.
Good luck to Lee Clark in his next job (if he finds one). I can get back to hating Birmingham City again, really want them to drop!

id like to see him go into youth coaching...think he would do a good job as an england youth team manager
free from the pressure, spotting and coaching young players like he did well here.

Big shock, one win in 24 at home, Poor lad, Goodby Peaky blinders manager. He did his best with no money imo.

I like Clark and wish him well but he is a very mediocre manager. The trouble at Birmingham can be used as an excuse and I'm sure he'll get another job if he's prepared drop to league one two. Would probably make a better coach or assistant though.

About time
Could his ego handle dropping down to league two to rebuild his reputation?

To take on the Brum role took a bit of bottle and only an exceptional manager could succeed there. That he lasted so long speaks well of him. He will get something else I'd think.

Would have had plenty of justification in walking out on Birmingham long before now and because they were known to be in a shambolic mess off the pitch his reputation wouldn't have dipped because of it. I'm glad we moved on from him at the time we did but I also have to say he's one of my favourite manager's we've had in terms of honesty and drive, like most people I wish him well and hope he goes on to do well he has plenty of time on his side and when a job comes up at a Donny or somewhere in the future then why not? Good luck to him

Good luck to him He has become a difficult bloke to have confidence in now. He was very confident and a good speaker to the media/fans when he joined us. Understandably perhaps but now he is always glum and looking into the distance when he speaks. He makes Robins seem a cheerful optimist.

Aren't we all the same in that we all spend our hard earned money watching our beloved team and hoping they do well? Feeling sorry for the fans in terms that it has to be hard for any fan watching their team perform terribly weekend out and face relegation. Perhaps as a female maybe im too soft or compassionate :/

I agree I think he needs some media training, and probably had the wrong job when he arrived at our place too, but life's not perfect..

Apart from Trevor Francis's team relegating us, there was Bob Latchford, the barsteward.
