Is there any chance now we have our shares back that we can sort out the awful catering standards at the ground? I was in fairly early yesterday about an hour before kick off and went to order a pint of lager. The lass who served me had to ask which one was lager. She then started to pull it and the barrel went. She then tried again and ended up covered in froth (steady). I had to tell her the barrel had gone otherwise she was going to have a 3rd go. She pulled me 2 pints from the other pump which were both completely flat and tasted awful. I took it back and told them the gas had gone so she pulled another one which was obviously flat. She shrugged her shoulders and said that's the way it is and told the blokes behind me there was no lager. All this before 7pm. It might sound petty but its the 3rd time this season ive witnessed someone or i have had to point out the barrel or the gas has gone. £3.70 a pint and the quality and service is awful. Its a laughing stock compared to other clubs.

Even with a modest crowd it is often impossible to leave your seat at half time and get served with a pint before the start of the second half. Truly shocking quality as well. I don`t bother anymore.

It's shocking. The guy infront of me yesterday apologized to me on behalf of the person serving him. Took him 5 mins to get served a pint (he also didn't know what one was lager) and a pie.
I then got served and it was someone different, ordered 4 different things but she could only grasp 1 at a time, got bored of repeating myself so left the Bovril out.

This has been a hot topic at the ATT meetings recently and is absolutely being looked into. The company who deal with catering have been made aware that their standards aren't good enough. We'll hopefully see improvements soon.

Losing business especially in the NSL two small vans with queues longer than 20 minutes. Half time is 15 mins. Like previously posted I do feel petty moaning about it but away ends I've been too walks all over what we serve up. Hoping a previous poster was right in saying it's being addressed

It is completely unacceptable and needs addressing sooner than later. They need to get a group in who can deliver good service and on time.
We are truly one of the worst based on my many away days.
Sort it out please!!

The company that runs the catering are rank amateurs and as has been alluded to, the training appears to be non existent. Never mind that the actual product is abysmal and horrendously overpriced (£6.70ish for a half pound bacon cheeseburger!!), the service is shoddy at best and with a few small improvements they could be doubling their turnover.
As a side note, of the two vans in the NSL last night the only one that served a hot drink (just tea, nothing else) was the beer van with a 15 minute wait. Surely for night games when it's freezing it's not too much to ask for a little van selling hot drinks? There's plenty of space and they've got plenty of flexibility as the outlets aren't built into the wall. A cup of soup would've sorted me out big time last night but I had to keep my money in my pocket.

Exactly what I mentioned losing money. Too many fans keeping money in their pockets! There will be a stereotype attached to Yorkshire blokes soon if were not careful ?

Is it just the stall I go to that don't do chips?! I'm allergic to gluten so can't eat pies or burgers. Understand that I'm a bit fussier than most, but there isn't anywhere else I've ever struggled to actually find anything to eat! I spend months at a time working in East Africa and attend numerous festivals and the like, and always find something to eat, even if I have to make do with a bag of chips for the odd meal. Unbelievable that I can eat in a Tanzanian village hours from the nearest city, but I can't eat at a football ground in Huddersfield.
Last night my train was delayed, so I arrived in Hudds after kick off having not managed to eat anything. Comes to something when you haven't had any dinner and you still don't get anything from the catering stalls because there's nothing you can actually eat!

Our food and our service is well below par in comparison to most other clubs. I wont even eat our food its just awful. Ewood park - Blackburn has the hottest nicest food i have had at a ground this season so far and was served very quickly with numerous people serving on even at half time. If you want a half time drink you have to miss the last few minutes of the first half to make sure you're served before the second half begins in NSL. Puts most off bothering trying to get a half time drink.

Your right, the catering especially in the NSL is poor and has been raised with the club who are dealing with it as well as the rest of the stadium. It's not good enough and puts people off using the facilities.

One lad tried to charge me £18 for 2 pints of beer. He didn't understand why it was wrong.

It's hardly unique to Town, I've been to plenty of grounds where if you watched all of first half there's no way you'd get served before start of second half. I just make sure I've eaten before I arrive, problem sorted.

One look at the condition of many in the catering queues is enough to put one off from partaking

I got to the ground well before kick off a couple of home games ago and fancied a glass of wine as wine was advertised. They had no wine. Why advertise it?! A major overhaul is massively needed.

Me and my dad say the same thing all the time, boro was my last home game, the lass at the bar argued with my dad for about 10 mins because she was trying to overcharge and she was that thick she couldn't realise, The meal deals as they call them are a joke too, Pies are nice but larger is shit

I get my quota of beer at the Canalside, the stuff they serve in the ground is like drinking dish water.

Last night I asked for a Snickers and a hot chocolate (I’m calorie-unconscious). The guy put them through the till while someone else went to fetch my healthy, balanced evening meal. Tillman told me it would cost £3.60-something. I pointed at the sign behind him which stated it should cost £3. Tillman: Oh, that’s a meal deal. Me: Yes. A snack bar plus a hot drink. Tillman: You should have asked for a meal deal. I’ve rung it through now. Me: Sorry I didn’t say ‘meal deal’ but you’re the one who’s supposed to know what you sell. Tillman: I’ll have to ask someone what to do with the till. Two other members of staff hover over the till. They also don’t know what to do. Meanwhile, my drink and Snickers arrive. I plonk £3 on the counter and depart saying, I’ll leave you lot to sort it out. My apologies to those behind me in the queue. If it's of any consolation to those waiting, even after much stirring with a stick there was still half an inch of sludge in the bottom of my cup.

Don't you guys have enough to eat at home? This topic comes up week after week on here to my surprise and amusement. I've been visiting football grounds since 1957 and as far as I can remember have NEVER eaten in any of them. If you ain't got time to get home for a night match, or (as was the case with me "back in the day") after work on Saturday morning, there are plenty of decent cafe's and pubs in the Town centre (and apparently at Canalside) which is a very short walk (used to take me 15 minutes from the Broadway or D'Agostino's) from the ground.... For the last twenty or so years I have had lunch at lunchtime and, lo and behold, have managed to go without eating for a whole five hours until teatime... As for beer --- plastic glasses (enough said?) AND - unlike at Fartown games - you can't (for some arcane reason) take it to your seat.

The main point is the club are losing money by not being able to deliver the basics. Income we cannot afford to pass up.

They must miss out on a mint. I can never get to the front of the queue in the FML before the second half starts. I dont even bother now, just bring my own food.

Often wondered what the financial arrangement is here.
It is so badly run I struggle to comprehend that the people managing the catering really care about sales, so question whether there is some more complex arrangement whereby they are not actually rewarded for operating the catering efficiently That or incompetence on a scale rarely seen on the apprentice.
I often nip out to get a hot dog before half time, how can they sell out before the end of the first half.
I think it is Sodexo, who run my works canteen. What they do there is not brilliant, but they would never decline a sale, or sell out.
The club need to get tough on them if it is losing revenue because of incompetence

Queued up for 15 mins, so second half about to start. "can I have a Bovril please", and the predicted response "We've none left ". Brilliant. Surely, for the love of god, you must be able to guesstimate how much stock you need on any given match day!, and if you have too much don't worry as it's powder sealed beneath foil. It won't go off! Absolutely fucking pathetic outfit! And they all serve sooooooo slooooow! Get a bloody move on!

You buying a burger doesn't give the club money.they get a fixed price from the company however many they sell. The club should still try and make sure the fans get looked after though
I assume by the way.

But the future fee the club will negotiate from the caterer will depend upon the amount of revenue (indirectly). In some cases of varying contract length and depending on how close you are to the renewal date there could be some reason for the caterer to re-direct resources away from one club and point them at another - where the contract renewal has say just been completed and incremental sales can potentially generate more income, or at any rate not increase the fee they foresee paying for renewal.
Not saying this is the case, but I suspect the catering business is pretty ruthless and not usually this incompetent without some reason. The club should stick it to them. I would.

Whilst enough people keep eating the shite they serve at the inflated price they charge they will continue to provide the market with the product (same old crap) in the mistaken / deluded belief that it's what the market wants.
