Just seen this on their equivalent of DATM:
".... if I was a Huddersfield fan I would be leaving PR dissappointed, they were the better team. it wasn't like we had loads of chances and should have easily won the game(like last week), we were poor and got just about what we deserved."

Mick McCarthy:Reflecting on the match, he said: “Maybe we are fortunate to come away with a point in the end. Huddersfield played well, they changed their system to suit us or stop us but we were 2-0 up when they were playing 3-5-2. They went 4-4-2 and it changed the momentum of the game, although it’s the penalty which changes the momentum really.
“They were just starting to play well, we were preparing to get the subs on to counter-act their shape and they got a penalty. It swung completely in their favour.”
Asked if he felt the penalty award, for Luke Chambers grappling with Grant Holt in the box, was contentious, McCarthy replied: “It’s a penalty. Look, Grant Holt was bumping and barging all game, which is the way he plays – he’s been a good player and he still is.
“I think the two of them had hold of each other in the box, but when the defender is facing his own goal and still has hold of him then he’s going to give a penalty for it.
“I’ve been there. Let me clear something up, Luke Chambers is not naïve, that’s for sure. He’s just playing against a good player who’s taken advantage and spun him around. That’s what happens when you’re playing against good players.”
He added: “We got a point when we could have lost it. When they equalised they were on top and we had to scrap it out. As much as I’m disappointed we’ve chipped a two-goal lead, at least we didn’t lose it.”
Top bloke, nice to hear some honesty

Couldn't this also have been said for the previous 2 visits to Portman Road?

I like the way a few Ipswich fans are saying our players fell over too easy,,,,,imo the team are doing things right, working there arses off, getting stuck in,and falling over when needed,it about time we started acting like bastards and getting under the skins of other fans

Ipswich fans most unhappy. Row broke out after the match between McCarthy and fans behind the dugout. They see it as two points definitely dropped against little ol' Huddersfield. LINKThey don't give us the credit that their manager does.

Powell for me cost us 3 points today. He might have cost us two points (which I doubt anyway), but not three. We did get one after all.

For the pedantic, then yes it was only 2, but you are not that fuckin thick not to understand what i meant. The 2 main players that have been getting rave reviews are left on the bench. I told my dad before KO, when he said that, that they deserved to get hammered with decision making like that. 2-0 down and then low and behold, Bunn and Scannell come on and the game changes. You might all want to blow smoke up his arse, but see when he makes mistakes and today he made one. Play your best team available and stop trying to be clever fucking about.

I get where you are coming from but I thought Bunn especially looked very tired on Tues and Scannell was definitely injured/struggling by the end. I can see why CP rested those and changed the formation. Wells scored again today, doesn't mean he gets an automatic start for the next game. We finally have a squad other teams have to worry about when planning against us.

Is it not beyond the realms of possibility that our 2 wingers needed a rest? Bunn looked jaded on Tuesday, and scannell was clearly struggling. We need to keep these players available for as many minutes in as many matches as possible. Not run them Into the ground and out of the team,

I think the criticism is unjustified. Yes he could have kept the status quo but he is paid to make the big decisions and he will not always get them right.
I agree that after just 14 games of a 46 game season the "jaded" excuse is a poor one, especially after an international break however I can see why he would want to a) keep managers guessing, b) keep the fringe players happy and c) ensure we can adapt to different teams.
Who is to say that had we kept the same team we wouldn't have lost? Ifs and buts and all that but the way I see it we went to a top 6 side and came away with a point but more importantly showed some balls when the going got tough.
Job done in my opinion

Too much is being made of the tiredness issue. If anyone should be tired its Ipswich. We've had 2 home games, Ipswich had a mammoth midweek trip to Cardiff. Granted we had to travel to Suffolk but we'll have had an overnight stay, although Ipswich probably stayed over, still a logistical nightmare. The club knew this week was coming. The next few days should be used to rest if they're feeling the strain of the last weeks games.
On Scannell, I can understand why he was dropped to the bench, Tuesday he went off holding his groin, so maybe he was still feeling it.

Powell for me cost us 3 points today. More Colt classics If you bothered watching mid week, you would have noticed that both Scanz and Bunn we running on fumes for most of the second half. Both these players are 'new' to starting game after game and were clearly showing signs of tiredness. CP rests then for an away game (rightly in my view) and then brings them both on to good effect. Great away point (could have been 3 but hey-ho)

Go away and play FIFA and stop trying to knock , you obviously have no idea !!! You must have got too much sun in the Algarve. Or is that why you are out there, to learn about football.
