Since the Examiner issued a chance to vote for our walkway of legends (http://www.examiner.co.uk/sport/football/news/vote-your-14-huddersfield-town-7988517) I've finally got round to picking my all time Town XI.
I've been Watching Town since the 90/91 season, so I've only gone for players I actually remember playing.
Harper
Clarke Lucketti Cowan Hunt Horne Bullock Gorre Pilkington Stewart Rhodes
My Subs would be Charlton, Marsden, and Booth

If it's since I started watching then i'm stuck with all the greats since 2003/04.... Really struggling to put out an eleven so here are the best/favourite players I have ever seen play for Town: Rhodes Pilkington Schofield Abbott Stead (first stint!) Vaughan Kelly Booth Taylor-Fletcher

Mutch, Wadsworth, Goodall, Watson, Wilson, Stephenson, Islip, Richardson, Smith, Wood, Mann, Brown - no contest. Couldn't you find a way to shoehorn Denis and Ray into that undeniably excellent team? UTT

In MY era: Poole: Jenkins, Wilson: Jimmy Nic, Big John, Cherry: McHale (maybe Scannel in a couple of years!) Nahki, Boothy, Gorre, Pilkington
That lot at their best would walk the "Premiership"
Excuse me while I extract tongue from cheek
UTT

Well crap, if we're going off players I've actually seen play for Town I've not got a lot to work from (less than 5 seasons)...for that reason I'll just not bother (would pretty much be the current team with the additions of Pilks, Rhodes and Hunt)

Any all time list must have Law, Massie, Worthington, Mally Brown, and Wilson. Peter Clarke as captain! To my mind there's never been a REALLY outstanding keeper. Massie a very under-rated player.
Thornley - a one-trick pony, not worthy of tying bootlaces.

Since 1963
Poole
McNab Lucketti Cherry Wilson
Gorre Nicholson Coady Pilkington
Worthington Stewart
Subs; Lawson (D), Rhodes, O'Grady, Booth, Jackson, Brown, Kindon
I don't think anyone could argue with that line up - although I know EpsomTerrier would squeeze in Dave Cowling.

Bought the T-shirt (1964 - 2014), well had it made up. Agree, no standout keeper, choice for me between Poole, Vaesen but I was a fan of Lawson (David) - big sale and he did OK at Everton.
Lawson Brown Cowan Morrison Cherry McGill Marsden Gorre Irons Worthington Stewart

McNab was not a right back so it will have to be Derek Parkin. Coady is good but unproven so put Cherry in there and then you can have Monkou alongside Lucketti. That's better.

Bennett, Brown, Cowan, Lucketti, Monkou, Lawson, Nicholson, Pilkington, Worthington, Shearer, Stewart. Since 1970...no-ones team so far would beat this lot.

I once ran on the pitch after a game and McNab gave me a piggy back - and I can't even remember his position. In my minds eye I had McNab as a right back and Parkin as left - but it must have been the other way round.

Talking about Derek Parkin and tired players - his wiki extract below:
" Over 14 years at Molineux, he made a record amount of senior appearances – 609, including 501 league games, also a club record. He played 50 or more competitive matches in a season for Wolves no fewer than five times – another record – and in seasons 1968–69 and 1969–70, he took part in every single league and cup match played by the club. "

Thornley - a one-trick pony, not worthy of tying bootlaces. Really? During my time watching Town (since '94) we've been blessed with a few outstanding keepers - including the likes of Harper, Vaesen, Smithies and my personal favourite, Steve Francis. I also really rated Ian Gray and thought he was far better than Division 3 at the time he was at Town... Shitty end to his career too We have had a few shockers, mind. Bartram, Clarke, Norman, Bevan, Senior the ones springing to mind. I do also still have a signed pair of Derek O'Connor's Mitre's.... Remember him? Not sure if he ever made the first team or not. Defo turned out a few times for the Crown, Hecky Sunday's in recent times though

Considering he was our 2nd choice keeper, I didn't think Tony Norman was that bad TBH. Agreed on the rest though. If we haven't had a really outstanding keeper since the days of Denis Law, then I question whether I've seen any really outstanding players at all.
Then again, if Ben Thornley wasn't worthy of tying bootlaces then I have to concede that I probably haven't!
