I agree Ritchie, I wouldn't want him to get the town managers job because when it goes a bit wrong..... When it goes a bit wrong? He'd adapt like any manager would. I don't get what point you're trying to make TBH. The point I'm making is that if results don't go well, what if he gets sacked? Take Bryan Gunn at Norwich. A Norwich legend sacked and has nothing to do with the club anymore. I wouldn't want Clarke to go through that as I didn't want Lillis to if he'd of got the job. Id love PC to work at town but not as manager.

Trouble is, being a leader of men and being tactically astute aren't necessarily the same thing. We have no idea of telling if he would make a great manager at this point.

Listened to that on playback, I admire P.C. as a fully committed defender (if a little short of the quality required) and he came across as an honest and thoroughly decent bloke (most especially in reference to the bit about the Pilkington injury.)
But; am I the only listener who found the interview just a little bit overlong, not to say slightly boring? He waffled on for a considerable amount of time about issues that most of us (outsiders) would have liked a bit more explanation about (Lee Clark dismissal, the Oldham prog notes spring to mind..) I fully understand that he has to have one eye on his future in the game so he ain't gonna ruffle too many feathers. But for me the whole thing could have been broadcast in a twenty minute time slot as it was really a simple piece of appreciation of a guy who, although a damn good player for us (over a relatively short period) hardly qualifies for "legendary" status..

I thought it was good to go through one year at a time and it brought back lots of memories. He could of course have revealed a lot more but said as much as he could without ever being disloyal. It seems he wasn't treated with much sensitivity when he was told we weren't going to keep him here and I found that part very disappointing. I remember a poster alluding to it here at the time and wondered what went on. He was very dignified and I wish him well

Great interview..... Maybe he does deserve the legend pick That line up Of Roberts Kilbane Damon Johnson Pilks With Rhodes and Novak Was A very good team. Except that lineup never existed. Kilbane made his debut in January as a Johnson replacement after his season ending injury in December.
