I would get rid of him (Ward) Stead Paterson and Gobern how else do you even have a chance of keeping Holt or getting more quality into the squad in Jan ? Got to agree, it looks like Powell want's to add at least three players to the squad. To balance the books some will have to go who are not in his plans on decent money, which could also include the likes of Gerrard and Hammill to the list. Perhaps Gerrard but id keep Hammill and explain to him that its last chance saloon

Would' be a redicilous move to let him go to charlton. They must be one of our main rivals for a bottom three place.

Our 2nd top assister and 2nd top scorer last year, imagine what he'll do for a club that actually appreciates him. Gets judged on ridiculously harsh standards by Town fans.

Maybe we are missing something in Wards ability but I guess the choice is keep him and he will be on the bench or free up his wages for a player who will apparently make us better.
And another part of the equation is that Charlton are the only team willing to take him.
Now what would you do?

A winger who can't cross. A striker who can't finish. An athlete who's over weight. Take your pick as to which one Sums him up best. I personally like all 3. Another £1m lee clark may as well have donated to keep it up fund on behalf of Dean hoyle. As said above if he ever has 3 good games in a row I'll be impressed.

Can't cross a ball. Can't tackle, can sprint fast. Yes he may have a few assists, I wish him luck.

He'll probably be another Arfield, but it's probably best for everyone to let him go. Just hasn't fully clicked for him here and it's better to get him off the books.

I should think he was......he got played every week despite being rubbish most games. Where is he going to play now?! Not upfront cos he doesnt score many goals or contribute physically, and id have scanz and bunn every day ahead of him. Horrible if another arfield happens.....but been here c4 years now and never convinced at this level or indeed league 1. Get rid, but ensure theres a sell on to cover some unforseen event like him turning out to be quite good!

Examiner reporting he could be going to leeds on loan or permanent. Hope deano has more sense. Would rather see him go in part exchange somewhere for somebody like that Nadir Ciftci or Eoin Doyle.

He may well win the Ballon d'Or with another club and I wouldn't give a hootle. He could play for us for a thousand years and still not do much. Ps. He'll not win the Ballon d'Or with anyone else

Talk about a ridiculously blinkered view! You missed out joint top scorer last season, as well as top of the assists. He may well go because we've got cover in his position, but a player that (whatever he does), will always attract a ludicrously disproportionate amount of stick from some Town fans, as the above post perfectly illustrates.

I don't care much for Ward, I just hope we don't end up with Charltons cast offs. Diego Poyet been their player of the season tells you about the rest.

Better player than he's getting credit for from a lot of fans.
Can we get better, of course we can. However I fear people have a ridiculously twisted view of him because of his misses in front if goal.
Wish it was Patterson we were talking about going to one of our rivals and not Danny.

Or, if The Daily Telegraph is to be believed, Redfearn might not be making any signings... "Leeds owner Massimo Cellino is running out of patience with Neil Redfearn and could soon be looking for his fifth manager in seven months."

Ward is very inconsistent & 21 goals in 140 games isn't great for an attacking player.. He can be brilliant some games but frustratingly bad in others. Scannell took afew years to find his consistency, but we've had Ward about 5 seasons now & we're yet to see that from him. Bunn, Scannell, Lolley & Hammill are ahead of him in the wide positions imo, so move him on & free up some wages for other area's of the team. Good luck to him if he goes, don't think we'd miss him though.
