A home game in the early 80`s resulted in the fences being erected after trouble after a Millwall game at home. Was only very young but I seem to remember they won the game with an offside goal. We lost that match 1-0 and it virtually ended our promotion hopes, we made the news that day too, town fans invaded the pitch at the end and a couple of millwall players were attacked, and then everyone ran to the open end to attack millwall fans but the coppers managed to keep the two apart, people who were born in 70s/80s dont realise that town had a big mob in those days and caused plenty of trouble up and down the country

Went down to The Den 3 times in the 80s or early 90sFirst time when we won 3-1 and took some nutters down intent on taking them on. Had some mildly unpleasant experiences in the later part of the decade both result wise (4 goal thrashings and Teddy Sheringham/ Tony Cascarino giving us the runaround) followed by a baying mob trying to attack us at New Cross - saved by the intervention of the Met.

Town did everything that game but just couldn't score, their keeper pulled off some brilliant saves. Good job those fences were up, there must have been 500 Town fans running over towards the open end, but i cant remember there being any trouble outside after the game.

I went across the pitch, from the terrace side, as the cowshed came across the pitch. Give millwall their due. They came onto the pitch to meet and greet us. A large militant black guy, especially springs to mind. Looked good on "Calendar" that week.

Were you nicked blueballs? Who was on the coach stopped at the services on the way down? All our coach got nicked when we come away from the services some of the lad had taken some cutlery and thought it was funny to throw them through those windows in the roof of the coach at over supporters traveling on the motorway the police pulled us over and searched the coach and found a large number of baseball bats and pickaxe handles so they took us all to a near by police station and kept us there until the game was over and then escorted us back up the motorway on our coach was paddock and quarmby and Walpole lads I was on that coach (I'm from Bracken hall)we got taken to Bletchley Police station. Was it four eyes who set our cell on fire (the wooden toilet seat)? Ali owned up to stealing cutlery from the services - that's another story! They kept him until Monday morning! They filled 3 bins of confiscated alcohol and took an array of weapons; The sergeant saying there would have been bloodshed had we reached our destination. When we got back, Gassy, Andy Morris, myself and few others went to the Hong Kong restaurant down Northumberland street. Top days back in't day.
