It was a steady enough debut. Didn't really effect the game much IMO but didn't do anything wrong. It was about 20 minutes in before I remembered he was playing.
Just in that one game, I didn't see anything that would make me drop Hogg for. But its only one game.

Seemed to find space an awful lot but Butterfield was getting the ball deeper and kept going for the glory cross field pass instead of hitting Poyet.

I know he's only had one game, but after watching Poyet yesterday, I wish Hogg had been playing.

Was Hogg on the bench ? If not then surely he is injured ?

Arrived with a big reputation, so there must be more to come from him. Never seemed to be in the game at all.

In my opinion Poyet was our best player during the first half. He broke up quite a few attacks, played some nice little passes and made sure we kept the ball. His job was to sit and do exactly that, to allow butterfield and coady to push on a bit more. Funny how nobody talks about how poor coady was or Bunn, instead lets pick out the loan player. Bunn was terrible yesterday as was coady, both gave the ball away everytime they had it, played shocking passes, made poor decisions. Ive only seen bunn have one good game, yet to be convinced by him, seems to be that its more that things are just coming off for him and hes having a bit of luck. Hes not skillfull, he more tries to bundle his way past players and yesterday he had no luck and the ball bounced the other way instead of going fir him. Hes very similar to ward in my opinion but ward gets a massive amount of criticism for doing the same things that bunn does.

He took Coady's position on the pitch - we didn't need Coady moving. Result: Coady might as well have been in the stands. Though Poyet looked a really good player but did we need him? No. Powell needs to play Coady or Poyet.

People did give Bunn criticism for his performance yesterday.. You've only seen Bunn have one good game ? Have you seen a lot of games cos to my eyes he has been one of the shining lights of towns revival .

Have you seen a lot of games cos to my eyes he has been one of the shining lights of towns revival . Which games would you say hes had good games? From the games ive seen, He was Very poor against boro, I thought he was decent at leeds, wigan not great, blackpool ok, weds fulham and derby all poor or average performances. I know he has played well in ither games but its always the same with young players coming through, they get a massive amount of praise which is over the top a lot of the time and then get an easy ride compared to other players. Im not saying hes nit a giod olayer, im just not sold on him yet, i just think hes been riding a and sky high confidence and things have been coming off for him. Im not sure what his qualities are, hes not particularly quick, not skillfull, instead more tries to bundle through players, not a great crosser. He seems to have a nack of being in the right place and scoring but his finishes havent been clinical, more scuffs, and hes missed a heck of a lot of chances too. I hope im wrong but i think he will fade and be more of a player we bring iff the bench. scannel has been the shining light in my opinion.

Lets pick 2018 and see where they both are then, im going to say both in league one. Dont get me wrong, i like bunn and want him to do well but im just not sure about him.

He was excellent at Reading and Wolves and when he came on at Ipswich. Not quite so effective at Derby but that was down to the team set up not a poor individual display. At Fulham his head dropped after he missed that chance when he was through. Yesterday was the first time I've seen him bettered by a full back - it happens. At Reading and Wolves he made international full backs look very ordinary. He has got very decent pace and strength and a low centre of gravity which allows him to turn quickly. I would have thought his goals/chances ratio is very high if they measure that sort of stuff. He is positionaly very good. He'll always score more goals than the other wide men because he gets into the box when the ball is on the other side of the pitch - something Hammill and Scannell are not very good at - Ward a bit better - Lolley not seen enough of. Hard worker and gets back to help his full back.

Same time same place it's In me diary.. Harry Bunn will be playing premier league or upper echelon champs IMO

I said yesterday that I thought he maintained possession well but at the expense of slowing us down too much. Kind of similar to your point last night, what looks good on paper can look entirely different on the pitch. Everyone looked so ponderous yesterday, whether that was down to the new addition, shifting Coady out of position, or the international break I don't know. Maybe a combination of the three.

Yeah we just seemed a bit lethargic... Maybe a coincidence but a lot of our early kick off games tend to be like this . Poyet did ok.. It was his debut in a misfiring performance.. I just wanted a little more urgency and creativity from him. But judging by the Charlton fans reviews it will come

The way it put Coady out of the game imo is not good, mistake by CP imo. Poor game by us. Surely Coady will be back in his normal position at Bolton ?

Forget the Poyet stat.
The most interesting stat yesterday (from Sky) was that Massive and Town have won more English League titles than Chelsea and Man City (7 vs 6).

very good stats tbf,i assume Powell ordered him to mince around in midfield and keep it simple, would of liked to of seen him have a shot when he had his run forward in the second half

Personally I thought he was one of our better players. Played the ball well and found space. Only his first game but I like the look of him

Reminded me of Oli Norwood. Good distribution but lacked any drive or defensive protection. Their midfield cut through at ease yesterday.
Give Hogg/Gobern/Billing a go instead.
