After my mischievous little suggestion regarding locating the away seating in the North End of the Kilner and the reaction that got from one or two fans (sorry lads), I was wondering whether everybody else likes to sit in the same place every match and even drinking in the same pub before and aft. Back in the Old Leeds Road Ground you could move about during a game and stand in a different place every match if you so wished and I used to do exactly that. I had mates who used quite a few different pubs also so I used to move around for a pre-match pint too. I admit it's my general nature to have different routines for most things rather than doing the same thing every time and that even stretches to the music I listen to and the things I do socially. How many people feel more or less the same and like to mix life up a bit?...And would it be so bad if seating in the Stadium was unrestricted so you can sit where you like in the Stand you've entered? Just a thought or two on a miserable November day!

Just a thought or two on a miserable November day! I would have no problem with any of that, providing you don't take away my choice of where I sit, where I drink or where I park. What you suggest would restrict me from doing exactly what I want to do, that is sit where I like with my mates. Apart from the fact some of the people you would inconvenience are not so mobile any more, therefore the Ropewalk and that car park is there only option.

Apart from the fact some of the people you would inconvenience are not so mobile any more, therefore the Ropewalk and that car park is there only option. I think this sums things up nicely. Its fine to have choice but then equally I am allowed to still sit in the same seat I have had ever since they completed the South Stand for away fans. In terms of unreserved seating what would people who come as a family and want to sit together do? Or those with young children, or old people..... Its something that works in a stand like NSL where it isnt full and being new people dont have those attachments. However I personally sat in about 4 or 5 different seats before chosing the one I have had for so long. For me its the view I like the best and the same people have sat around me for most of that time so I guess they feel the same way. To put things a different way, if I decided I wanted to build a new road that went through your house and were able to issue a Compulsary Purchase Order would you be happy to just accept it and move somewhere new, to mix things up a bit??? Its the same principle in that forcing change is highly emotive and unfair if the people in question dont want the change and there is no real reason for the change.

I always stood in the same place at Leeds Road. I always sit in the same place at the JSS.
They probably are exactly the same spot in the respective grounds.
Why change what you know you like? I'm the same when I go to the Chinese!

You do sometimes feel like a change ,I have sat in the same seat dead level with the players tunnel and think I have one of best views in the stadium ,this last Saturday I happened to commit the cardinal sin of standing up when Nahki was going through ,some elderly gentleman behind me put his hands on my shoulder and sat me back in my seat ,I did not react as he is prob 30 years older than me ,brought home to me what a lot of contributors have said in that the passion is missing from the stadium due to a majority wanting a library setting to watch the footy .
Good luck to all in NSL who have made a decision to move out of the library situation and into one with a bit more life .

A good point well made...There will always be debates about the best end, best seat etc but at the end of the day we all have a choice...being with like minded people who want to create a lively atmosphere is my choice so if it does go pete tong on the field of play at least i can say i've had a good laugh and gained some value for money from my SC...As they say it's not where you are but who you are with that matters.

I really can't believe that so many say they like the people who they are sat around. I don't think there's ever been a year where I've stuck it out in the same reserved seat each week.
Most Town fans drive me crazy and alot of weeks I even up and leave the people who I go to games with, these are close friends and family members!
I sometimes look up to the Riverside upper tier, those empty end sections and wish I earnt enough money to buy a seat up there, away from the football experts and weirdness of others.

It's a flat cap for football - although, reading some comments on here in recent weeks, the people of Huddersfield don't like them!! Maybe I should wear the Native Indian headdress instead!

Please don't tar us all with the same brush, for what it's worth I fully endorse everything that Scoffa, Ben, Mel and all are achieving in the NSL. Personally I prefer my view from where I choose to sit/stand, I can assure you if it was a library I would have been chucked out on my arse long ago. Looking forward to Bolton where I will be part of that away day experience. Keep it up, it certainly looked fabulous last week.

same seats sine the opening game.. we all used to stand in the same place in the old terrace.. creatures of habit.. in 1966 when I started going with the old man, we used to stand down at the front of the terrace near to the cowshed..thats where his cronies went to discuss 'at length' where town were going wrong etc.. nowt changes..

Unfortunately someone else got the tickets for three of us, not sure where I am but they did tell him we would probably not be restricted, so will try to get in with the lads.

Was originally going to agree with the OP, but after thinking about it my mates always arrive later on so if someone else had sat next to me id have to move where there was a few spaces. The best option is the NSL where you can move around unrestricted. I think its good to have these choices

I'm usually near the back in the middle of the Kilmer bank. I do like to experiment in pre season when it's cheap tickets.

We've sat in same seats since moving to this stadium. Group of about 8 of us. Tried a few different seats in occasional cup games or friendlies, different stands etc.
Pretty much halfway line, half way back, kilner bank. Perfect view for me.
