All the proposed "Loyalty" schemes on here, seem to benefit the proposer. I wonder why that is? I'm sorry Mel, but that's rubbish. I never wear a Town shirt to games, don't drink at Canalside or at the ground, quite often miss games when it is really cold and am not much of a shouter.

1) Patrons should have had the same priority as Blue & White. They always have in the past. Softboy Given you seem to favour the club's approach, why do you feel that being a member of an organisation like the BWF or patrons should be a more important and appropriate measure of loyalty when distributing Away tickets rather than how many away games you attend? Surely going to football matches is what being a supporter is all about (isn't it or am I missing a trick). A lot of time is spent on this board and generally about the cost of watching football. The club would appear to (possibly) favour those who spend their money on the BWF rather than attending away games. If you're cash strapped surely you'd prefer to spend your last £100 on attending a couple of away games rather than BWF membership. I know when I was at school and following the 79/80 team, all my spare money went on following the team basically all over the country & I would have had no money to spare for the like of BWF membership. To have found myself behind a BWF member in the queue for away tickets would really have stuck in the throat and I can't see how it could be considered fair. PS & before anyone points it out I know BWF members will probably attend lots of away games this post is highlighting those who may not. PPS + before anyone suggests it, I have raised these queries / issues with the club and to be honest their responses were quite frankly complete and utter sh*8te. The sort of response you'd expect from a politician when he was trying to avoid the question.

Surely tickets for away games that are in high demand priority should be given to fans who actually attend away games on a regular basis? The club seem to think giving them money is actually showing loyalty, when really it isn't, its just blindly giving them money!!
Despite making no money from away games the players need more support away from home more than anything else to try and get the result in the face of adversity. Not saying thats how it turns out. Just wish the club would lose the attitude that away games don't count because the club don't make any money from them.

Reckon they will have sold out by Monday? Well they've been on sale since yesterday, and only been on sale to just SC holders today... At this rate yes. Non SC holders may miss out at this rate. Initially only 1200 tickets were given to town, Town had to fight to get an extra 1400. Otherwise it could of been sold out before tomorrow. Will make for a good atmosphere.

Id love to get a couple of tickets for the Rovrum game, but couldn't afford a ST this year so looks like we will miss out, I cant see how the club could do things any different with only having a small allocation from RUFC.

It is a small allocation by championship standards but they only have to give 10% to away support so because they have a 12k stadium, 1.2k is all they have to give. Unfortunately people like yourself may struggle which is a shame, I'd be disappointed if I missed out also. Hopefully you'll get a ticket mate.

So if you love going to away games but you're strapped for cash but want to ensure a ticket for the really big away game you should miss two away games and join the BWF? Sorry I don't get it, I really don't f*****g get it.

There are likely to be more SC holders who want to go to this game than there are tickets. Therefore, Town simply have to prioritise and surely its right they favour SC holders who are also BWF members, as they are contributing more financially. The cost of the BWF is only £2 per week, which is really peanuts when all said & done. This discussion always crops up in these situations, but the bottom line is everyone knows the score & the priority system they're using has been used many times before.

Surely the club should prioritise availability for tickets for an away game on the basis of how many away games you attend. I simply can't comprehend the suggestion that those strapped for cash should join the BWF rather than actually going to football matches. is supporting a football club supposed to be about? ....and if you'd tried to tell the 17 year old version of me that £104 was f*****g peanuts then you really would have got the sharp end of my tongue (at least). ... & looking at some of the lads I see at away games I can't help but think some of them are in the same position as I would have been.

arterrier..
we joined when the club was deep in the shit financially.. its our club and you do what you can, financially to keep it ;
a. afloat b. to progress
I have 5 season cards and all are members of the foundation. I get 5 tickets for Rotherham, 2 will be going to a mate who lives in Exeter who goes to as many 'away' games as he possibly can. No point him buying a season card but him and his missis are blue and white members even when they cant make very many home games. They supported Town in the shit, even from afar and they support the club as best they can financially and in turning out when they can.
just another 'fly in the ointment' for the 'don't prioritise away tickets'...

Blue and White Foundation costs me £8 a month on direct debit.
I get to park for free on matchdays at Canalside. I get to drink cheap bear on matchdays at canalside. I get to see the guests when they have them, for free, at canalside. I get entered into the draw where I've got roughly a 1 in 2000 chance of winning 20 grand. I get priority on away tickets. I get the satisfaction of knowing I'm helping the club out financially.
The club gets £104 a year to help run the academy.
Its a scheme that benefits both the customer and the club if you want to make it work to your benefit.
Arterrier, you're bemoaning the clubs lack of ambition, and now you're knocking them for a revenue raising scheme that can reward those that take part.
I honestly don't know how you expect the club to operate at anything like the level you aspire to.
The club needs finances to run.
Away fans ( and I take my hat off to every single one of you that travels the length and breadth of the country) do not contribute to the clubs finances when they are buying away tickets. Yes the players get the support of the crowd - and that can only be a good thing, but that is it.
It might seem like a harsh scheme for those of you that go to many away games, but how would the club monitor away games anyway? A lot of them are pay on the day anyway, so there's no record of fans going to games in some cases.
Sorry, but there's nothing wrong with rewarding fans who are contributing to the accounts by being a member of the B&W.

Don't really get why people are panicking people saying we've nearly sold out, we've sold 1,000 tickets, not even half the allocation has been sold! Hopefully there will be a few left Monday morning!

If we've sold nearly 50% of our allocation already with restricted sales and with us at home tomorrow, come Monday, there could be a right bun fight at 9am!!!

At the risk of being rude ar.....why do you bother mate!? The club has no ambition, the shop is full of tat, its ticketing policy is wrong, despite being a business its all about money making schemes etc etc etc. I find myself wondering if you will ever be content??!!!! There is NO ticketing policy which will please everyone, but the club is a business and surely has the right to reward its own punters who invest in it via tickets for the rare occasions when they are tough to get hold of. When i was younger i would have disagreed and agreed with you, but football is now more of a business and they have to ensure that they look after those customers whose spending keeps them afloat. Away fans are important, but without the income of the fans who spend money with us nobody would have a team to follow..........its not great but its a fanciful notion now that the club is all about football.

This isn't passing any opinion on BWF or Patrons or anything else, but to not incorporate away ticket 'stubs' into the away ticketing hierarchy policy is just plain ridiculous and the opposite of what every single football club who actually have the problem of over-subscription to away games does. This isn't a new thing either, loads of clubs have had this for 20 years. United got 8000 requests per away game on average last year, and they manage to do it fairly.
I guess we find ourselves 'lucky' enough to ever have this problem and the faults in our current criteria exposed.
I'll take bets on it being the flattest of farts atmosphere from our lot too. Hope I'm wrong.
