criminal offences??
the bloke needs his bollox kicking off but criminal offences???
he was offensive on line about a tragedy, its shockingly bad taste and pretty offensive but where do you stop trying to criminalise what people post or say???
there is no race/religious/sexist rule to cover it, do we have laws that criminally cover very bad taste?? Frankie boyle would be doing life alongside jimmy carr and others if that were the case..
chesterfield banning him for life is their business and as such they can ban anyone for life for anything they choose. imo its the right thing to do in this case. locking people up for bad taste?? don't think so..

An idiot who deserves banning from football. Criminal offence it is not.

the 'danger' of social media???
the people of Bradford directly affected by the tragedy will probably have heard all the 'offensive' 'jokes' by now..
having one arse re gurgitating a few via silly social media isn't a 'danger'..
arse gets a load of stick and banned by his club for life. the 'joke' appears to be on him.
I don't personally find very offensive jokes that amusing especially when they are directly about one particular tragic incident but illegal?? no...
the 'saddest' people are the ones who hide behind perceived anonymity to just be offensive. this lad needs our 'sympathy'(after a good hiding, of course)...

By all means ban the fool, name & shame him/her but leave the plod out of it. You might think differently if you lost someone in tragic circumstances and then some arsehole laughed in your face about it. I think people like that need to be taught a lesson.

Regardless I would not think any differently, it is simply not a job for the police to become involved in.

you cant go down that route. incitement is a very personal thing. some people laugh at dickheads like this wanker, some would ignore him(wankers like him hate being ignored), some might get angry and some might try to kick his bollox off. The silly religious/race/sexist laws we have foisted on the nation are bad enough and arbitory enough to confuse the issues(be able to hide the serious ones) and has mainly 'caught' the unwary or the virtually harmless whilst the seriously dangerous have hidden behind them. Add 'incitement' to the mix and you then allow silly arses to 'incite' other silly arses...
