Really good hard working 2-0 win for the lads, Gobern and Billing controlling midfield and great energy from Tronstad and Flo

An enjoyable afternoon was that!
First half was a bit of a non event but we upped the tempo in the second half and ran out deserved winners.
Everton had a couple of 'heart in your mouth' moments and were unlucky not to score soon after we got our first but Town created more chances and the general play and build up was easy on the eye. A little disappointed with the final ball at times but all the players are constantly looking for and calling for possession. They seem very comfortable on the ball, from the keeper to the striker. I was impressed with Sondre Tronstad, not seen him before, not sure on his age but he looks like he could develop into a good league player. Billing seems to be everywhere, up and down the pitch, always looking to get involved and makes good use of the ball. I'm not usually able to make these games but this week I was and I was really glad I went. Agree with the other poster who said Gobern was the controlling influence, he did some excellent things but does seem to be abit sloppy with the ball at times.

Really impressed today, I lost count the number of times he broke up their attacks, agree he needs to have more focus and precision with his passing. More performances like this and rather than be shipped out in Jan he will be knocking on the door for 1st team inclusion. Billing and Gobern have formed a good partnership and we are a force to be reckoned with at this level.

Good to hear about Gobern playing well. We can all remember the QPR game when he bossed it in midfield. If we can get that from him every week (which is possible if he improves his fitness and get game time) he might finally reach the potential we all thought he had when we signed him

Many scoff at the club trying to bring through our own players and want us to buy our way to promotion (or admin?!!) Promotion to the Prem Simons all the sweeterwitha group of our own lads. I've always rated gobern, think he could make a cracking player if he was a regular....but given how its panned out over the last few years i think we might be flogging a dead horse. part of me thinks if there was room for him we'd be better off giving the space to someone like billing.
he came in back end of last season a was deserving of a new contract at the time, but it hasnt been worth it as of yet so even if he gets back in and puts in some good displays im not sure i would keep him on next year.
shame the lad gets the injuries he does as if he had played week in week out for the last 3-4 years giving him chance to build up his physical attributes i think he would be quality...as it is he's a 23 year old at the development stage of about a 20 year old

That's almost archetype of a description of someone who drops down a level or two, then rises back up again (first name I thought of was Jose Baxter, who is on that path currently - no idea of his injury history, though). Ability and potential but no experience.

Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards I met Nick on the train returning from Fulham. He is a massively passionate Town fan (like many others!!) I didn't realise Nick had made such an impression on me and that a 5 minute chat would have such a deep seated affect!!! Watch out for extra gibberish on Saturday just off Leeds Road.....

Exciting times seeing how this u21 team is shaping up. I'd like to see a few go on loan locally to League One level. Sheffield United, Barnsley, Bradford and Doncaster should be used more to blood the youngsters through.

Really impressive win as Everton have a highly respected youth setup. I would love to see a couple of our lads given a chance in the first team soon. They clearly have talent, the issue is whether they can make the step up to the Championship level. Pleased for Tronstad as when you come to another country from a first team to a youth team you must hope you get your chance as its a major upheavel for anyone to deal with let alone someone young

Why is it that we only seem to bring them in to the first team when they are getting towards 20 or 21. Other clubs seem to bring in 17 year olds for their debuts quite regularly. e.g the lad who played for Villa at the weekend, 17, looked 17, 17 year olds stature, yet playing premier league football.
From the brief glimpses Ive seen of Billing Id have him playing week in and week out, moves around the ground like Yaya Toure, Always gives a solid performance, He will be class in my opinion.

I've potentially missed some news here, but does anyone know why Joe Lolley didn't play vs Everton?
