Seems a down to earth respectable footballer who launched and funded his own disability project. Any town players ever do anything like this?

Not wanting to take anything away from this guys endeavours but ...
Jimmy Savile is probably the most high profile charity worker / philanthropist of the past 50 years

But Ings is a premiership footballer on a good wage putting it to help those worse off than him. Thinks its a bit disgusting that more footballers don't do that with the big £££ they are on

A lot might do but not tell the world about it ... That's not to say Ings isn't a good well meaning man.. I don't know him personally though do recall him pulling faces at the town faithful

Good on him, very refreshing. Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

With Savile it was almost like he was doing the charity stuff to atone in gods eyes for all his paedophillia .. I'm merely commenting on the fact that the OP equated Ings being a good person BECAUSE he was doing a charitable act...... Our recent history with Savile and others tells us that it's a bit premature to rush to that conclusion ... Good luck to Danny Ings and his charity.of course ...

No slight on Ings...I'm just wary of labelling people as good people because they do stuff for charity

I do a bit of charity work and I'm an absolute bell end.
Craig Bellamy has done unbeleivable amounts of charity work in Sierra Leone and I wouldn't say he's particulally well liked as a footballer amoungst opposition fans.
Sean Scannell is one of the nicest people I've ever met let alone footballers and he is always one of the first lads to stick his hand up to do work for the town foundation.

Didnt know that, can sympathise as my 5 month old is hard work and doesnt have complications (other than the bastard that is teething!!!). If so the club are being pretty decent dealing with people's personal issues, in many industries they would just have to get back to work.

Yea I agree, it's in the clubs best interests to help these lads get through their personal issues. When my son died my work did more than they legally had to, for that I'm eternally grateful. Also, our football club, HTFC did more than they had to as well. Something I'll never forget.

As you say Good luck to Ings and his project, even though my abiding memory of him is the infantile fingers in his ears and tongue out gesture at Town fans. At about 3.42 on the clip

Loads of footballers do a lot of good for charitys. Obviously a lot of footy fans will never acknowledge this as it doesnt fit with their 'waaaaa overpaid wankers waaaaa' argument every single time their team loses

I think we all know there are exceptions out there but what Ings is doing is impressive, no need for Jimmy Saville comparisons, that's just a bit silly and largely irrelevant.

There is no trap, I was just saying it was good to see that a premiership footballer still has his wits about him and helping those less fortunate than him...

How many Town players would you say are good down to earth guys and how many are up their own hole?
