Russ, I sit with the moaners in the DG Lower and been saying exactly that all season the noise simply doesnt travel even 150 yds and seems there's lots of effort but very little output or results lets call it, for the energy spent. Often you can see the arms moving and bugger all sound if the wind blows the opposite way.
The prices might have to come down in the DG upper, perhaps the club offer a special NSL season ticket area pricing next season, but you've nailed it and the volume would be immense up there with a few hundred and those below joining in now n again.
You've clearly got hours to think behind the wheel,

What makes you think that the DG lower can be heard by the NSL?

With the added bonus of it being the best view in the house from up there

Not trying to make this a singing competion bud, simply stating the volume don't travel well, there's only 6 that sing in the DG lower anyway so there's no competition. However, with a tin roof above it noise would be more concentrated, the general view's perhaps better high up in the DG upper too, dry also, so its a good 'suggestion' by the German porn star lookalikey that a move might be worth considering in future.

Tear the temp stand down, build a permanent stand with the modern safe standing rails, etc, build a concourse with a roof & it's perfect where it is!

I'm not saying you are trying to compete mate. Even if you were then that wouldn't be an issue because the ground needs more singers to stand up and sing. If the 6 of you became 60-100 and started a core of singers in that area then it would improve the atmosphere in that part of te ground. I go in the NSL because it's behind the goal. Them flags and displays look good behind the goal. The fans behind that goal get the second half feeling when the team kicks towards it, it's brilliant. I love every minute f it, I won't be going in the Kilner or main stand whilst I have air in my lungs. I want to be behind the goal as do many others.

I accepted a long time ago that home games will never even be close in comparison with aways so I have lowered my expectations. It doesn't matter where the home end is as it won't change anything. We are quite enjoying it in the NSL although we tend to sit at the side of the stand and join in with the odd song.

I'm not criticising, but why do you sit at the side of the stand instead of being right in the thick of it? I just wondered because I've seen a few who stand at the sides but sing occasionally.

I sit at the side because home games have changed for me now as my 9 year old lad comes to every game with me. This means less pre match trips to the pub (which always helps with the singing) and in terms of the match itself my lad can't see if we are in the middle.

It's not where you are Russ, its the people you're with. Now get yourself in the FM lower on Saturday and have some fun. The crowd that go in the FML create a decent atmosphere. Keep it up lads n lasses. It's the stadium design that loses the noise.

If people want to create an atmosphere, all they have to do is open their mouths and clap their hands. Why is it that so many folk assume that the NSL is there to make their own match day experience better, even if they don't join in?
