Once again made profit on Lee Peltier. Is anybody actually bothered about him going?

Just been reading the twitter responses (about 30) to Cardiff's announcements of signing Peltier. Not a single positive reaction.

It was crazy to give him a 3 year deal. Not a bad player to have as back up but no doubt was on a decent sum of money per week. I'm sure we can spend his wages more wisely now. Hopefully 2 or 3 quality additions set to arrive this week that can improve the first team

It was always a weird signing IMO. Decent right back but not as good as Smith and maybe making him skipper meant he had to be shoehorned into roles he wasn't capable of playing at this level? Be interesting to know if a fee was involved. Even if there was it might not cover the wages, signing on fees ,etc etc that we spent to have him, so might not be a profit. be good if there was but either way it'll free up some more budget for CP to play with. Good luck to him though.

Good luck to him though. It wasn't the most inspiring signing but it wasn't weird to me. We only had 1 right back (we do again now althogh Edgar can play there) so needed some cover. The weird bit was making him captain, although that could have been more because there was no other obvious option.

Can't argue smith is better with the ball or indeed that his re-signing was strange, but kind of feel sorry for the lad.....brought in and hardly ever played in his true position despite us having the worst goals against record in the division. I think some never took to him coming back because he was at Leeds and their fans thought he was shit............never a centre back and no more than a short gap midfielder particularly at this level, but now he's gone we now definitely need a right back.

Peltier loved town, he came back to a different club to what he left. Just who was making signings when robins was in charge I'm not sure. It seemed strange at the time that all his backroom staff were sacked, we were signing players and then he was sacked and we carried on signing players.
No one can surely have a bad word to sat against him, he's a good lad and a good player. He didn't fit in robins formation which was the really weird bit and then powell never really gave him a chance.
No loss, but a good footballer and a nice lad as far as I'm concerned. I hope he goes well in all game except vs us.

A bit like Stead, Peltier rejoining didn't feel like a Robins signing.
Can't complain that we've got upwards of £1mil profit on the lad but he wasn't the same player we had and we aren't the same club he left. Think Ward and Smithies would've been the only lads he knew rejoining and the former has now departed too.

We all know how these things work, in reality - he was asked to walk (My opinion), Town got what they wanted, Robins kept his "never been sacked" title?
Slow Sunday on DATM if we still have this to comment on?

If I remember correctly Peltier said his preferred position was as a midfielder, we tried him there and he was poor. He came back completely lacking in confidence from the few performances I saw, whatever position he played in.
