liked palmer a lot when we played them but we all know what happens when we sign players who play well against us their usually gash. Maguire on loan from hull could be a good option as could dwight gayle think most of others you mentioned are well out of our budget tbh especially yacob and sinclair. Sent from my GT-I9305 using proboards Yeah maybe so, but maybe a loan for a couple of them and get their parent club to pay most of wagers hopefully. I know derby were after Sinclair at start of season on loan but got Ibe instead so I believe. Maybe we could pay 30-50% of there wagers and help them find a new club! Thing is with HTAFC! You just never know!!

So we are all saying we need to strengthen to stay up and push on up the league. So who would you sign in January to improve us and what would your team be come the end of January? I think we need a new Right back, Centre Back, Defensive Mid, Winger and a striker Right back - Liam palmer (sheff weds) Centre back - Boyata (Man city loan)? Defensive Mid - Dean Hammond (Leicester), Yacob (west brom) Winger - Knockaert (Leicester), Sinclair (man city on loan)? Striker - Afobe (MK Dons) Dwight Gayle (palace Loan)? Don't think we need a target man as think Vaughan is enough! These players will cost a fair amount of money on wages mainly but surely if we want to push on we have to start spending sometime. Every/most other clubs in this division are doing it and we must keep up. UTT Our chairman does not want to put the amount of money into the club that is needed to make us a success. And I cannot blame him for that. Millions of pounds are needed to cement town in the top half of this division. FFP will take the club down. At the end of the season ask those clubs who remained in the Championship and those who vied for promotion and spent over the FFP if it was worth it? Yes, will probably be their answer.

Boyata is an option. Trying to think of powells former clubs and people he knows. The Leicester players wont be a bad shout as he was coach there with pearson was he not?

Am not sure they are ray! We need a smaller squad with better quality.....not a squad clogged with the likes of Sinnott, crooks, hammill, ward, Paterson, stead, Gerrard/Wallace, Dixon. The ability is there in the squad to be mid table IMO......it's the lack of responsibility and leaders which is causing the issues currently.

I'm not saying he will spend and I can't blame him if he doesn't but I think to remain at this level flirting with danger every season is very dangerous. Only takes one year when our luck isn't in for us to back to league 1 and can you remember how hard it is to get out of that awful league!!

We need better quality players in a smaller squad. Select your best team from who is available. We do not need to rotate players can adapt to different playing formations depending on the opposition. How are we going to prune the squad? Players have contracts. Every manager has a different take on who they want but what of those players you have at that moment. I thought Powell was going to turn us around and in a way he started to but things have gone into revers and I can see us going back down. You know it and most fans know it and that is money is a big factor in where your club sits in the division and which division.

UTT No chance of getting boyata, although he's way down the pecking order at city, he was given a big contract to stay as part of the squad as he is a 'double' homegrown player for their champions league squad. Isn't yacob an argentine international? would like either of them however don't think their realistic in all honesty

A leader ...very much what we need, but at whose expense?! Bunn and scannell have been by far our best two this term.

FFS. Could see this happening. CB and Striker should be the priority. Not a chuffin CM knocking on 30.

Im sure the defence is top priority but managers love players who dont let them down. He was CP's captain i think and personally i think we need an experienced quality midfielder.

Good for 10 goals a season looking at his stats in recent years

He's older than I thought. 32 years old. Another players whose legs are about to go. Yeah, great signing he would be...

Not at all what we need. Focus this January should without a doubt be on defence and attack.

He may end up another arfield, but so be it......hasn't done it for us for years now and that's what matters.

Give him a run of 10 games leading the line in a 4231 then we can pass judgement. He might not be as clever as Holt but he certainly has the pace, power and aerial ability to lead the line.

Sorry fella he can't play that role whatsoever.....no strength or nous to hold the ball up and when your midfield doesn't run in behind any aerial prowess is lost because there's nobody up there to support. We have played him in all sorts of positions........same old one decent game then missing for five and not good enough. Hasn't even done what hammill has in terms of a purple patch followed by mediocrity and clearly not in this managers plans.

I'd be happy to see Jackson here. Professionalism, consistency and championship experience and quality from set pieces are all qualities our team will benefit from.
