Got to question Hoyle if he sanctions that. Ward has played about 10 mins under Powell. Clearly not wanted wether we rate him or not Based on some of the players left out in recent games, Powell clearly has some kind of issue/blockage where hes decided a particular player isn't good enough so leaves them out preferring patently weaker players in their place at our expense. Hopefully he gets the full and complete backing he needs in the transfer market.

He's older than I thought. 32 years old. Another players whose legs are about to go. Yeah, great signing he would be... Would you sign Frank Lampard ? To be fair though Ted, Johnnie Jackson hasn't spent the majority of his career playing for one of the top teams in Europe.

Powell knows exactly what he's getting so I'd back him in any move for former players. Robins got the best out of Hammill, and Clayton was a big success who was brought in by Grayson.
If it goes badly it's all on Powell but i'd say i'm more confident in managers signing proven players for them personally.
Ps. Poyet would have proven his worth eventually, remember he was only 19 and was building up his fitness.

If he signs it just proves this whole pathways thing the club rattles on about is bollocks.
How is signing a 32 year old going to aid the development of players like Tronstad and Billing, it's just going to provide another obstacle to them getting near the first team.

Would be a top piece of scouting this, pinching a 32 year old who's not wanted by one of your old clubs. Wonder if Charlton have any more players they'd like to get rid of ?
Its a shame that Robins doesn't want any of our dross like Gobern and Paterson.

If we could see the Ward of his loan spell with us he'd be more than worth a shot, not seen much evidence of it in 2 years though. That said Holt has been that shite of late I'd have sooner given someone like Ward / Hamill or Wells a start over someone that will be turning out for one of our relegation rivals in a few days.

Meh a few years ago if have been chuffed now though what's the point he would offer nothing the rest of the midfielders don't already have just another box to box central midfielder.

I would be gutted to see Jacko leave. If he does then a link up with Chris Powell is the only move that would make sense. I would love a younger Jacko and maybe a last lucrative contract is a possibility at Huddersfield for him. Be warned he is as London as you can get (and I know a lot of you hate us Londoners and our city), his dad is a black cab driver and he was born in Covent Garden which is unusual.

very composed on the ball, very smart player and a leader, always rated Jackson,,, only thing that worries us that as soon as he pulls on the Town shirt, he will turn into the usuall quivering jelly, and fall asleep with the rest of them

Footballers are professional at end of the day. Please don't generalise about town fans hating Londoners etc it is a stereotype that died off decades ago. Loads of people on here live or have lived in London. We often take a healthy following south too, not the act of fans who hate London/londoners.

Agreed - look at the Scammell renaissance under Powell, there is a good player somewhere in there (Ward). Give Ward space and he has one hell of a left foot on him He scores goals too which is not a bad attribute for a forward player.

Our chairman does not want to put the amount of money into the club that is needed to make us a success. And I cannot blame him for that. Millions of pounds are needed to cement town in the top half of this division. FFP will take the club down. At the end of the season ask those clubs who remained in the Championship and those who vied for promotion and spent over the FFP if it was worth it? Yes, will probably be their answer. Am not sure they are ray! We need a smaller squad with better quality.....not a squad clogged with the likes of Sinnott, crooks, hammill, ward, Paterson, stead, Gerrard/Wallace, Dixon. The ability is there in the squad to be mid table IMO......it's the lack of responsibility and leaders which is causing the issues currently. While I agree we need more quality players players like Sinnott and Crooks will earn less in a year than Vaughan earns in a month. Trimming those two is neither here not there (although I agree it's in there interests to move on)

When has Hammill ever been shit for town?? I'm amazed people want rid of him! He has a bit of baggage, but easily our most creative player!

In fact apart from a really good couple of months he's been very hit and miss IMO. A bit of baggage?! Christ I hope we don't sign one who is really a problem then! He hasn't been able to play for months due to "injury".......this coming after nearly being imprisoned for an attack on paramedics. Nobody denies the lad has massive talent but if we need to free up wages for new recruits then hammill ward and Gerrard must be near the top of the list. The big question is can we get better more consistent players for our money?!

Danny Ward is far too attacking minded for the likes of Chris Powell. He'll come back here and piss all over our 8 defenders who can't defend.
