Ten pound is a bargain, this time last year there was more excitement about going to the hole that is Grimsby than this tie at home to a fellow championship club. Cos ties against teams in your own division are sooooo boring, we play them twice already (i'll be there tho, in that White Rose thingy). Grimsby game was probably best one last season

I wonder how many tickets we will sell if we win and play Man U @ home in next round? The stupid part about it is that if that DID happen, Man U would have a team of kids playing anyway....... That's okay, we just let our kids play them. After all they beat them last year anyway...

As far as I'm concerned, EVERY time that blue and white shirt is worn, it's meaningful and matters. I'll be their, because it's Town, I'm not just going to turn up if it's man city rocking up at the JSS. Im there because I support town. I expect the players, club and management to take this game as serious as a cup final because fans are paying money and expect that shirt to be respected. 2-0 town. Spot on Ben mate.

Hope Hammill bets a start! If he scores or we win, hope he don't gave a relapse onto the booze.

Looking forwards to it, would be great to have a run in the cup for a change.

No way..... I can feel it in my bones... great things for Town in the New Year, starting with the game on Saturday. And I'm never wrong about this sort of stuff.

I'd use this as an opportunity to try a different system with the likes of Majewski/Hammill coming in.

I bet they don't. Van gaal played a first team against Milton Keynes in league cup earlier this season. No suggestion he wouldn't do same in FA cup, especially when it's the only trophy they are still realistically playing for. We'd sell 20k I bet tho. Just too many stay away fans in Kirklees these days. Too many years of shitness & then false dawns in addition to the costs in an era of austerity.

Every time we're in the pitch we need to show what we're about. That said, I don't mind if some fringe players are given an opportunity especially likes of gerrard, Hammill and Lolley. Looking forward to this game. Let's knock reading out and then look forward to a tasty draw in the next round.

I don't just think that we'll beat Reading but I also think that we'll go on to win the FA Cup and be playing European football next season

Couldn't care less who we're playing. If there's a Town match on, and I'm available, I'm having it.

I'm going oo, been rough as hell last few days. Nice to go to cup game, like to see Hammil back in and a youngster in midfield.

This club needs a cup run to reinvigorate the fan base....get the tie won then the fringe lads can have a run out.

And picks one or two 'fringe' players. It's the new black, when it comes to FA Cup games. Personally, I'd pick our strongest XI. It's a very winnable tie, chance of a lucrative draw in the next round. Perhaps Powell reckons resting a few won't hinder us? I'm guessing Reading will rest players too. New black.

I reckon CP will play his strongest team and hopefully we will get through to the next round and drawn at home.

We'll see I suppose. But I reckon two of Vaughan, Butterfield and Scannell will be rested. Maybe all three. And I expect Hammill and Gerrard to start. Maybe Peltier and Majewski too.

I don't know why we'd rest players when our next game is on the 10th, they have a whole week to rest up.
The FA cup is a very good incremental revenue stream for us if we can get a good run going. If we get a lucrative away to the next round it could enable another signing this transfer window, a good home tie could help grow our fanbase.
Not taking this cup seriously is literally throwing money away, we need to go out and win the game. It's well publicised that prem clubs don't need the FA cup due to the premiership TV revenue, but we certainly do.

I'm hoping the likes of lolley, billing and tronstad get a look in today. It's an ideal game to give them a run out and see what they can do against a side in the same division.
