Town to win 4-1 he may play Gobern and Hamill , as long as they put that shirt on i'll get behind him when he crosses the line. Oh and Morning Royalty at Newcastle 8-1.

I'm hoping the likes of lolley, billing and tronstad get a look in today. It's an ideal game to give them a run out and see what they can do against a side in the same division. No it's not!!!! Today is about winning - I couldn't give a toss about giving fringe lads a game it's about the cold hard fact that this club needs a cup run and a game to re-enthuse a fan base that needs convincing we have the ambition to kick on. Ffs we attracted 15k+ in league 2 and yet folks are baulking at paying to come and watch us in the championship! Yes it's too expensive, but the club have bent over backwards to get bums on seats today and if folks can't be arsed then don't moan if we end up on 31 jan with 2 loan signings only If we can't shift some of the deadwood. It's now a business and dean is quite right to limit his spending .....after all it's still costing him 4m per year to keep the club where it is! A decent crowd, and more importantly a motivated squad needs to deliver today and then it's up to the numpty who picks the balls on Mon to determine who we get next.........please mr Powell don't follow robins master class from last year when he ruined Jordan Sinnott who has barely been since! It still rankles with me now how inept robins was in that cup game - guess what.....Charlton reached the quarter final and probably made 1m+ from gate receipts/prize money and TV revenue. That could and should have been ours such was our early dominance that day, but oh no....yet again the players and manager in particular got it badly wrong. Let's for once get the job done today and onto the next rd......the blades and even that sad lot from ginger and dog turdville have shown what can be done in the cup with an equal measure of luck, skill and huge effort.

Depends which way you look at it shawsie personally I think it's a great opportunity to see what a couple of these younger lads can do when put in against a side in the same division..agree robins made a total balls up last year especially with Sinnott when he played him out of position but I see nothing wrong with giving the likes of billing, tronstad some minutes today they need to be given an opportunity at some point.

Best opportunity for the young players will come when the fringe players have hopefully left this window. I'd rather they get 20-30 minutes in the league than to blow an FA cup tie.

As I predicted, Scannell and Butterfield rested/dropped/whatever.
Hope we've still enough to get through. Should have.

I thought Powell could give the likes of Peltier, Dixon and gerrard a run out today... Not all 3 but maybe 2 of them.

Anyone know if Reading have fielded a weakend side? No Norwood jokes yet please, save them for the end of the game in case you jinx it

That doesn't look too weak for me. As a 4-4-2, it looks OK. Hammill for Scannell maybe a bit weaker, but who would you take off for Butterfield? Hogg, Coady?

Have we gone back to sideways footie. 25 minutes and neither side had a single shot yet according to Beeb stats.

Why has the Charlton v Blackburn game gone blank on Sky Super6? Am I part of some big betting scam or something having Blackburn down for the win. Bloody hell I'd be 4 results in the right direction at the mo, if they hadn't had that greyed out for 10 minutes now. Anyone know anything. It's more exciting than the game by the sounds of it anyway.
