His face looks stripey in that photo. Odd.

I've always liked Stead. On a whole he's done well for town. Good player and a nice chap. I wish him all the best for the future.

Good luck to Stead, once he leaves Bradford at the end of the season! LOL

Really enjoyed his first spell here (full of potential and looked to have a big future.) Sadly he didn't quite make the very big time (not sure when his development stalled?) But that transfer fee from Blackburn must have done a fair bit towards stabilizing the clubs finances during a very sticky period of our history.
Good luck to him at Bradford.

Really happy we've managed to retain Stead's services, he's been great for us.
I'm surprised by some of the comments on here 'his legs have gone' and 'too lightweight' as that's not what I've seen of him. For a lad with not much meat on him I find him surprisingly strong and he puts so much effort in during games - running the channels, making intelligent runs, closing down etc etc which is why it's not taken him long to win over the 'he's Huddersfield scum' brigade.
The only issue is he's not much of a goal threat and his shooting ain't great. With a 'goalscorer' alongside him I think he'd be great. Ironically I think him and Wells would be a great partnership but have to agree with regards to the Championship probably been above his level at this stage in his career.
Nice to see the comments wishing him well, if only the majority of our fans were the same with regards to Nahki.
Look forward to playing you guys soon, if not in the Championship next season then in one of the cups. Be nice to pass Leeds on our way up...

Not everyone would agree but to me he was totally Shot... If he has found his level and resurrected himself then that's great... Most town fans have goodwill towards stead due to him being a local lad and being so good in this first spell

Glad we got rid of him. Was robbing a wage with us and did nothing in his second spell here. Hopefully we can shift Ward to blackpool and Gerrard to MLS and bring in some good signings.

hahhaaa you lot die over hanson he's a Huddersfield town fan by the way and used to watch them as a kid, if you want him bid and see.
Stead has 7 incluing 2 for town correct but still overall decent total.

I was just interested that's all.

I recall some very good memories of his early seasons with us when he came up through the academy. Like I said, I wish Jon Stead nothing but the best for the future and I hope that he continues to do well with Bradford.

He went because at the time the club needed the money, hadn't we just come out of admin, we more or less moved him on,and to say he wasn't ready is wrong, he banged them in for blackburn, it was a change of manager that did for him, never seemed to settle anywhere then. Just to add too hes one of the lowest earners,he came back to be nearer home.

Stead left Town almost 11 years back and since has scored a paltry 67 league goals in 323 games, which works out at around 1 goal every 5 games, or 6 goals per season. Since goals win games and strikers are employed to score them, this a piss poor return for any so called striker.
For me , Stead should feel lucky that a League One side is interested in him because for me, he's now at almost 32 years of age, nothing more than a League Two striker at best and is not worth a salary of more than £150K per year, absolute tops.
No wonder Town want shut of him.
