Hanson first and now Stead. And Sordell for Burnley, two rumoured Town targets and a Town player in the cup so far tonight!

Stead left Town almost 11 years back and since has scored a paltry 67 league goals in 323 games, which works out at around 1 goal every 5 games, or 6 goals per season. Since goals win games and strikers are employed to score them, this a piss poor return for any so called striker. For me , Stead should feel lucky that a League One side is interested in him because for me, he's now at almost 32 years of age, nothing more than a League Two striker at best and is not worth a salary of more than £150K per year, absolute tops. No wonder Town want shut of him. 150k...hes not on that at town.lot less.

While we at it, How much is Nahki on per week? Anyone know ? Thanks £1,800. He was happy to get away from his old team and triple his wages at the same time

While we at it, How much is Nahki on per week? Anyone know ? Thanks He works for free. Bag of chips on a Friday. Nigel Clibbens has kidnapped Nahkis mum and keeps her tied up in the tunnels under the pitch, along with the real Terry the Terrier. If Nahki has a bad game then the undersoil heating gets turned down in order to punish her over winter, and that's why there was bits of snow on the pitch vs Reading. In the event that Nahki withdraws his labour then Terry the Terriers insides get scooped out, and she will be glued into the costume with her voicebox removed, and forced to work the touchline for ever more. A fate that I'm sure Nahki is keen to avoid.

Considering Stead was on £12k/week at Ipswich during 2010 before moving on to Bristol City, which had an overall average wage bill of £6k/week, I find it impossible to believe that Stead is on £2k/week as suggested above. My info from another Town fan more in the know, is that Stead is currently on between £4k & £5k/week and lets be honest, there won't be many Championship players around who are currently earning less than this amount, whilst the majority will be earning double or treble this figure.

It makes no difference whether a player comes from Hepworth or Timbuktu, if he's a crap striker then he's crap striker.
PS: You are not his wife or a family member are you?

His goals kept Blackburn up after they signed him... I'm pretty sure that earned the club (as was) a fair bit more than the £1m he cost them.
Apparently Mark Hughes decided Stead wasn't in his plans before he'd seen him train, so he can hardly be blamed for that either.
When he eventually settled at Bristol City, he was a fans' favourite there even during their appalling relegation season. The goals dropped off but he did pretty well on assists.
On balance, football really needs more guys like him. A shame his return wasn't another Boothy story, but good luck to him. Hope he gets Bradford promoted, otherwise next season won't be the same without a West Yorkshire derby!

Mirdielder, stop being a hater on stead you are a joke pal. You're comments ain't nice infact very poor. He has scored goals in his first spell he was decent at town and was a tryer gave his best good lad. Second time round he's comeback it's been hit and miss bit like that hAppens in football. He came back because of family too. He's a terrier and bleeds and loves your club . Regardless of what wages he's on who cares he's gotta make a living he's human .so fair play to him overall. Another goal tonight that's his 8th this season not bad . Yeah we have Chelsea away we can earn the money and enjoy our day decent tie. We respect town no need to bad mouth stead most town fans love him .

After so many years of finishing below that ****, to watch them trying to get out of the turd division again would be (insert adjective or adverb). In case anyone thinks that was about Bradford, it wasn't.

I don't hate Stead, it's just that I've never rated him as a striker because apart from his early days at Town and Blackburn, he's done nowt to impress me and can only be classified as a "run of the mill " average striker. The fact that he's turned out for around 10 different clubs over the past 11 seasons says it all, because had he been any good many of these would have retained him.
He's always lacked the true aggression a successful striker needs, plus he could have done with a bit more meat on his gangly frame.
However, football is all about opinions and we are all entitled to have our own, even if this sometimes upsets other fans.
