Jon Stead today just played with 'gay abandon', in the wilderness at Town found love at Bradford and played superb.

Had a big hand in 3 of the goals. He did that - cracking strike, good hold up play and for me the best was the last - good hold up, good feet and a perfect little ball taking out 3 players in the area. Good on him. The third goal he couldn't have created at Town as never anyone in and around that area to pass it to!

there's no recall clause he's ours until end of the season with a permanent deal due. he's scored today with 2 assists how you should have kept him our gain cheers.

Glad he's gone and lets be truthful he wouldn't be in our starting 11. He's playing for a contract at Bradford in a division below us so I'm not surprised he's doing quite well. Yes he's scored at Chelsea in the FA Cup but I wouldn't expect him to do that week in week out. Bradford are welcome to Stead and I hope he does well for them.

Strange to see one of our players on the front page of a national newspaper and not related to match fixing.

Thrilled for Jon Stead and I love a good cup upset even for the chickens. Shame he couldn't get regular games back with us again and therefore was unable to find 'his form'. I'm sure given the chance he could have scored a few more for us. As it is he's getting and enjoying regular football for the Bantams and what an opportunity for him to show that he still is a good player and striker yesterday. Massive well done from me for Stead and a good answer back to his critics. After all he could go on to play in the fa cup final this season. UTT!

unlucky to come back at the time he did imo. Not saying it would have worked out great but in healthier circumstances I think he'd have offered more.

Don't think Bradford fans have realised that Steads transfer fee has increased ten fold after his amazing money making performance against Chelsea . There is no doubt that his goal and two assists were the difference between winning and loosing, and Mr Hoyle and his team needs rewarding big time for putting the loan deal together. Just wondering how much money this cup run could earn Bradford especially if they draw Man Utd or Liverpool away in the next round . All this is Hignsight as Stead must be worth abit more than his Free transfer especially when that performance was against top premier league players. Maybe time for the club to put certain clauses in give away contracts.

I love him. There's so much quality about him, so much intelligence. I've never seen such a good player in City colours at holding up the ball in my lifetime. Class act, and I hope we've already discussed a deal with him for next season and beyond.

Just been on Talksport with Brazil and Murphy - spoke very well (as he always does!). Said that after Mourinho left the Bradford changing rooms, he was shouting 'Big Balls, Big Balls'. Not sure which player he was referring to...but would be interesting to know?

If it is possible to recall him, I'd do that today and make the chickens (or indeed any other club who is interested after Saturday's performance) pay a fee to have him for the rest of the season.
All's fair in love, war and business......

Terrific performance by JS against Chelsea.........just one of several ex-Town players still in the FA Cup. Whilst Town fell out with barely a whimper............:-{

Hypothetical question in hignsight. Stead has proven that he is worth abit more than his mentioned loan/ come " Free " transfer , especially after his amazing performance against top "premier league players ". Same could be said about Arfield ,and maybe an idea for the club to start putting the odd money claw back clauses in give away players contracts. Steads performance was arquably the difference between Bradford earning possible million + in cup revenue , and seems town will recieve absolutely fcuk all .

No, pay his wages for less than a week and collect a fee before the end of the window.

Not meaning to do him a disservice but I was waiting for him to fall over. Well played Steady, an excellent performance on the biggest of stages and I'm genuinely pleased for him as he'll always be a Town lad but am not disappointed that he is not playing for us anymore.

I've probably been one of his biggest critics but fair do's to him, because he was the stand out player against Chelsea and was instrumental in setting up three of the Bantams goals. So, as someone says above, he should sign for them for whatever they are prepared to pay him, although if I were Bradford I'd raise my wage offer, because without him last Saturday they wouldn't have been looking forward to another very good pay day.

We are liable for his wages all the while he is under contract, pull a stunt like that and it could backfire big style.

He's on 5Live at 4:15 for anyone interested. Stead seems to be playing down any connection with Huddersfield Town even though he is still a town player . On the way via taxi to Torquay this morning , i heard someone on a radio show ask why town had put Stead out on loan when proving that he can mix it with some of the best premier league players. Have yet to hear Stead mention that he is a free agent come the end of the season, and sometimes nowt like rattling your own cage.

He's gone Sugy, told his career at Huddersfield is over, we don't want him, finito, get used to it. He is a Bradford player now and he ain't coming back.
