YaYa Toure are you having a laugh. We have seen this guy too many times to see his weaknesses. Hopefully now we will see Gobbern, Stead, Paterson, Sinnot, Carrs and potentially Gerrard on their way and freeing up both places and salary savings. If we got 4 good players in for these 8 leaving then that would be a good bit of business.

Clear evidence of how we waste brass. £1m on Ward's fee, no doubt with wages to match - presumably he'll go for a pittance (if anything) due to his contract being nearly up.
Hammill similarly arrived 'full of potential' after an Anfield schooling so would have been on a few quid. We stand by him through his 'problems', in particularly twatting that female paramedic. All that investment in wages when he was unavailable also down the pan.
Mr Hoyle must despair at how football pisses money away.
Ha - mid typing I just got the hourly spam from the club with the subject shouting 'Many bargains still to be had'. There sure are folks, the January sale is in full swing!!

You're never going to get every decision right. In Hoyle' s reign we have come up one division yet I suspect on transfer fees alone we are still in surplus. Even ignoring that.... for the million quid we reportedly paid for Ward we got a good few years of a first team player too. Not that big a disaster.

Not too concerned if these two leave they've hardly featured this season and it's obvious CP doesn't rate them. After Goberns worldy assist versus Rotherham I can't understand how they don't fancy him too, maybe Bayern are lining him up....must mean we've something better lined up so good stuff. I'll be interested to see Watfords line up tomorrow as I've heard we're looking at one of their players, time will tell.

we can only shift on the players we don't want, if someone else wants them and we can do a deal which suits both clubs. the discussion about which of the 'unwanted' is moved on is therefore, pretty pointless.. the only points to discuss is wether Town have to bite their lip in regards to the deals and save what we can. We will never know the ins and outs of these so that might prove fruitless to? If Powell isn't going to use these players then every penny saved on wages simply has to be the aim. That may well not be enough in itself to bring in the number of new recruits some seem to believe might be arriving, but the aim to save on wages must still be paramount to keep the club on its quest to be financially sound. If he isn't going to play, other than in dire emergencies we can no longer justify keeping him, the finances no longer allow it.

Would be massively disappointed if in return we got Pringle. Watched him boxing day gave the ball away numerous times nothing more than a good league 1 player. GMS would be perfect though.

Why the clamor to sign Pringle?
Decent season last year but has done nothing in the Championship. He was dire against us the other week. He was good at finding pockets of space but he did feck all with it.
Not fussed about Hammill leaving. Started well last year but he's clearly a bit of an idiot and I'm surprised we stood by him for so long. If Ward had come in on a free, he'd probably have seemed like a decent player but that £1million tag is difficult to shake. I'm sure they'll be steady but inconsistent for Rotherham, just like they have been here

This Ward / Hammill thread will become far more of an interesting discussion when we realise who Powell has brought in to replace both departing players. We will never know Powells proper managerial potential unless the fans gives him a chance to put a championship team together , and then we need to give him the support similar to what Mr Hoyle has shown . We all have seen what kind of a performance this town team are capable of , and feel sure that a a few decent signings could catapult this team onwards and upwards.

Andrews looks set to re-join MK Franchise thank god.

Evans on Hammill.. 'I was surprised he was allowed to come out of Huddersfield, but we're delighted.' He has to say something along those lines, to be fair.

Chill the fuck out everyone, has hoyle ever let us down? Give him some credit,we need to free up wagea to make room for people coming in, so that's what s been done, doesn't matter who to,it doesn't make Rotherham any stronger than they are given who they are shipping out, probably weaker,we will be stronger.... Ffs chill.

I am sure this manager knows what he is doing hence our strong league position and some of the most entertaining football ever seen at the town. The Reading game in particular was seriously breathtaking. He has made such an improvement on Scannell, so much so that he has managed to find the net regularly with his 2 goals this season. We don't need the likes of Ward who can only score lucky hat-tricks in games against the top teams. Ironically we are up against the same team tomorrow but I am sure Scannell will totally destroy them anyway. I think he's right in shipping out our least effective wide player (Hammill), the one who never creates any openings for his strikers too. Don't believe the stats, they are nothing to go by any road are they Powell?
I am sure the players who he brings in, apart from Poyet of course, will be absolutely brilliant, especially if they are tough southerners! I can only see Town going upwards and Ward & Hammill doing absolutely nothing for Rotherham so it makes total sense. No way on earth will they manage to overhaul the goal tally of our world class winger, Scannell.
