Our allocation of 3,700 goes on sale to Home / Away Season Ticket Holders on Monday then Gold Members (next category down) on Friday 16th Jan at 10am when there will be a mad Internet scramble for tickets myself included. They are not expected to get to General Sale.
I have the option of tagging on with Town Season Ticket Family / Friends but the thought of either keeping schtum for 90 minutes if we do well or having to fake mock celebration if you do well does not fill me with excitement either way.
This game could have more at stake points wise than any other in recent times which, as others have said, could make this fixture very important for more than bragging rights.

I once watched Town win at Valley Parade from the middle of the home end. It was torture but worth it. I can't call the Leeds game at all this time. Form counts for nothing in a match like this and our recent performances against you lot have been abysmal. We were very lucky to win this fixture last season and we seem jinxed never to finish higher up in the league than Leeds. All in all a very scappy win with a goal deflecting off someone's arse will do me fine!

We'd sell out most games if we ever got in the Prem, there's enough so called Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool fans in the town and surrounding areas to fill the ground for a season. Same people would be back to watching their football in the pub with replica kit telling you how shit Town as soon as Town went back down.

You're talking like we'd still sell the number of STs we sell now! To get to see the chelsea , man utd liverpool arsenal etc games you'll need a season ticket because all 18500 available would sell out. Add on corporate and big away followings most games, then I doubt we'd have any sub 20k attendances at all. Most games would be 22-24000 That might be the case for one season, but do you reckon - if they made it stick - there'd be the same appetite for Sunderland, Stoke and Swansea three or four years down the line? (That's an open question; though, my suspicions would be not) Yes why not. The same principle would apply- if you want to see the big games, you'd need a ST. We only have about 18500 STs to sell. Just over HALF the number we took to old Trafford in league 1. If we were ever to become an established prem club, our core support would be far bigger than it is now. Think how many kids in our area 'support' the big clubs like man utd, liverpool etc.If their local club was a prem club, and in the magazines and on the tv and in the papers all the time then a large amount of those kids would become Town fans and we'd have a much bigger core support in years to come as a result. How many thousands of people have moved into this area from other places. Might not be interested in watching a club as prominent as HTFC in the championship- but in the prem??! Different kettle of haddock. We've been a long time outside the top flight and I suppose our core support is pretty good baring that in mind. but if we were again, it would be far higher for a long time to come.

You've been shit because you're up for a game in 3 weeks time?! I've heard it all now. Or by suddenly, do you mean last few years vs Hudds? But then, 2 wins and 2 losses in 4 doesn't seem that good. Or 3 wins and 4 defeats in the last 10. Agree though that my Leeds mates seem more into the Hudds game in the last few years...possibly the realisation that you'll never play Man Utd in a league game again is finally setting in. The fixtures to me still don't seem as exciting as the ones that we (Hudds) had vs Bradford in the 90's...but they're not far off...this league would be so much better if all three West Yorks clubs were in it.

Unsure, though a quick scan of Leeds' fans reactions shows that he's been their best player this season so far Looks like he's being forced out of the club because Cellino "doesn't like him" Ah well, can only weaken them ahead of the second half of the season

If we got into the PL I believe we may get 3/4 full houses but no more. The vast majority of people in Huddersfield are simple not interested in watching the football club. It is a real shame but that is how it is. So how come 36k went to the playoff final at Old Trafford? If (and it's a fkin enormous if) we ever get to the PL, then by definition we will have been performing a lot better than we have over the last few years and battling at the top of the Championship rather than the bottom. That alone will have an impact on the attendances. If we do go up, there's enough interest / floating fans / even Premiership fans to make regular 24k crowds a realistic prospect.

If we can get 4 or more points from our next two away fixtures, we'll make 18,000 unlike the good old days with 42,000.

seriously more interested in how we play and the result than how many are watching..a large crowd would be nice but not essential.. rather have a couple of k more week in week out..

Yeah I read that too, though the source wasn't the most reliable. I doubt it's that high, but he's definitely one of their highest earners (and thus Cellino has set out to get him out of the club asap) Thing is though, he's out of contract in summer. If by making an example of him they end up getting relegated (because they've got rid of their captain in January...!), surely that's going to cost them way more than the 6 months of wages?

I think Warnock's move could be the result of FFP. Under their transfer embargo they will need to ship out high earners if they wish to bring people in.

Warnock and El Presidente had a major fallout reportedly over a Warnock goal celebration when he mocked his calling down to the dressing room at half time to change the line up / formation by doing a mock telephone call towards the Director's Box.....seemingly trivial but never been forgiven apparently. Good player on his day and has made some great last ditch tackles, but also on a lot of money and not long left on his contract. Charlie Taylor a young lad we had on loan at Fleetwood last season has been shuffled into left back, Sam Byram is going to be the next Gareth Bale according to our manager and no doubt we will sign Carboni Ravioli from an unheard of Serie F team to plug the gaps. All will be fine still hoping for some signings of note even on loan, pick up a few points and be ready for our spaghetti western on Jan 31st in better shape than we currently are.

There is no chance Stephen Warnock is on forty grand a week. Wasn't it him and Peltier rumoured to have stayed out drinking at a strip club last season, when they were told to be in training in the morning that's the rumour.
He's not getting offered a new contract so will he be fully motivated if the club don't let him go and turn down Derby. His first two seasons he was pretty average, yet this season his form, commitment/passion changes, call me cynical when he is in the last year of his contract but could he be putting the extra effort in to earn a better deal.
If you asked most fans last season then they would be glad to get rid of him. A bit like Danny ward at town, yet scores a hat trick on the last day of the season and makes himself look indispensable.
Warnock was only captain after Pearce got injured anyway.
