It may be possible if Vaughan played on the wing and didn't need to go for any aerial challenges, but the sort of player he is and role he plays in the team, I can't see how he could possibly play with a broken cheek bone and eye socket and to suggest other wise is ludicrous. As someone else said, you'd be better off carrying on pretending you're an "In the Know" transfer expert. Indeed wasn't that Swedish centreback for Celtic out for 8 weeks with a broken cheekbone and eye socket a couple of years ago. Oh and whoever mentioned Torres mask - that was for a broken nose only. That was me suppose it depends on the type of facial injury! It may have been demba ba who I remember fracturing his cheek bone, he played with a mask on for a few week I remember!

You know when you changed your name from RUNNING99 ? Why did you bother doing that knobhead? Or shucks you got me Ted, You silly old fuck wit, I was trying to get away from you stalking me the new name was in honor of you, You been the most massive Knobhead of all time. Admins .. Might there be a ban here for personal abuse ? This guy has limited brain cells which undermine his claims of superiority... Hence it didnt take sherlock holmes to work out he had deleted and set up a new account ... He adds nowt to the board as anyone who has read either of his incarnations can testify . Now that isn't reason to ban someone but this kind of personal 4 letter abuse without any wit or wisdom maybe is ?

Two really good strikers needed now. Even having wells plus the two new strikers would be considered being down to the bare bones. Must get at least one in for tomorrow - Vaughan's replacement could be just a month's loan to cover his period out Why the rush for tomorrow, Saturday is our next match. FWIW I agree that if Vaughan is out for a couple of weeks then we should for a loan replacement only, similar to when we got Grant Holt. If CP isn't going to use our development squad players as backup strikers then we need experienced cover but it likely won't come cheap. Oops for some reason I thought the Wigan game was tomorrow.

Spent the night watching all this and last seasons games. Alex kicks it out of play on an average of once every 5.5 games. That was mainly last season when he was aiming for Danny Ward who was out on the touchline. All night Really? You must be one of the old virgins on this board i was refering to earlier with no life, Get yourself out, Live a little you might even get laid old boy. Try not to get personal lad!

[b Quite ironic really, judging by your posts its you that leads a sad life. Attention seeking on a football forum with about as much sense as a pile of dog turd. You should try getting laid more often.

fractured eye socket isn't it? Nasty injury. Depends how big the gap is. If its just a hairline then he could be back pronto. He will be back when there is no risk of making it worse.

That's second half what about first half and there is still one missing that went straight out on the left aswell. Heaven alone knows why I bothered (largely because it took about three minutes I had spare while waiting on a train). First half. Second half. Put them together and get the image I posted earlier.

You probably shouldn't have bothered - old backwards never lets facts get in the way of his arguments (the Rotherham ambition one was a classic of its kind)

either injury would be a few weeks to heal then protection for some time afterwards.. put both together and its 6 weeks before they would even consider him playing, even in a mask.. it appears the clubs hand may well have been forced on this occasion??

Vaughan's a bigger sick note than Darren Anderton ever was - what's he going to be off work with next? - A broken flask.

on this occasion Vaughan was genuinely unlucky, but we were always one injury away to Vaughan or Wells away from being in the pooh..Be honest we were one daft challenge or a few words to the ref away with Vaughan as well, very risky plan from Town.. bit like driving without a spare, you are just hoping...whilst knowing that at least one of your tyres could go at any minute..

He wouldn't be at little old 'Udders though if he didn't have injury issues & certainly wouldn't have cost us £600k. Just to add, his injury on Saturday could have happened to anyone.. Very unlucky!

I think everyone agrees his latest injury was very unfortunate and could not be foreseen... scunny at least had a replacement keeper on the bench on Saturday, the second break was definitely unforeseen and could not be catered for beforehand..
town don't have their excuse..and we as a championship club should be more prepared and better staffed than a team towards the bottom of league 1.. we simply have to be if we are making a proper fist of this..

I really don't get this drum you're banging about Town, we too had a reserve goalkeeper on the bench. Fans have been clamouring for us to get rid of the deadwood for ages, we do and yes it will leave us a little lighter on the bench for maybe a couple of weeks. We actually seemed to play better after Vaughan was replaced on saturday and I don't think a like for like striker would have brought a better result on Saturday but in truth no-one knows. I would prefer us to have a development squad striker on the bench while we try to bolster the ranks but to suggest that Scunthorpe are better staffed and equipped than us is laughable. I'm sure everyone at the club is working on bringing a striker in this week, but I for one wouldn't want them to rush and bring someone in for the sake of it. I'd sooner wait if it means getting the right man in.

The problem that Vaughans injury presents us with, other than his absence, is the fact that everybody knows we are now DESPERATE for a striker. Price tags and wages went up 20% on Saturday.
