Vaughan is the other striker... Only had Holt and Wells for a sizeable period this season. (I'm not really counting Stead/Patterson/Ward as never really played). Wells, ALF, Vaughan (in a couple of weeks), Bunn etc. Not overly concerned with that. Another would be great, but not essential. Vaughan wont play again this season. Even Darren Anderton never had 4 months out with a fat lip.

Le Fondre, 40 goals in 100 games for Reading (championship and premier league). As I say, a goalscorer, good signing if we get him.

Vaughan wont play again this season. Even Darren Anderton never had 4 months out with a fat lip. I think Vaughan's injury is somewhat worse than a fat lip. Sam Burgess had a similar cheek bone and eye socket injury and was around 2 months from the injury to playing again.

Deja vu time - you come out with that line every year, didn't you once say he'd never pull on a Town shirt again. you're starting to remind me of sugy, keep saying something long enough and it may come true eventually.

Then yes, clearly another striker is needed on top of ALF, assuming he signs. Had thought Vaughan would be back in a couple of weeks with a protective mask on.

how anyone thinks tha alf isn't what we need and doesn't want him here is deluded...better than any striker we have for doing what it says on the tin.....scoring goals.

Too similar to Wells but you can't really turn down the option to sign a goalscorer

Too similar to Wells but you can't really turn down the option to sign a goalscorer We've had a load of crosses flash across the goalmouth, and cut backs, this season. Another good finisher could be just what we need. We do need a different option too though if Vaughan is out long term. Holt was ideal for us.

would take him in an instant...but do think ideally we would need another striker as well.
im not someone who thinks you need a big lump upfront next to your wells/le fondre, but i do think they are a bit similar to work as a partnership as they both occupy the same areas of the pitch.
just look at man utds current strike force. 2 arguably world class strikers in falcao and RVP but when they play together neither of them look like they know what they are doing. if they had kept the less prolific welbeck and played him up top with rvp i bet the welbeck/rvp combo would have more goals than the falcao/rvp combo

Too similar to Wells but you can't really turn down the option to sign a goalscorer Much rather ALF than going down the non scoring big man route ! A real step up from someone like Connor Sammon who had all the makings of another Alan Alan.
