Pretty infuriating that we're a week away from deadline day and back to square one.

Or seen as Cardiff have parachute payments they will be paying massive wages, and as bolton dont give a fuck about debt the players have gone to the ones who pay most,or Cardiff let them go to the club who would pay more of their wages... Simplr

Simplr Yeah, at least we know whoever we get will come for footballing reasons and not big money, we are a small struggling club.

Are they really in danger though yes they are over £100 million in debt but I haven't seen anything in the news to save they are on the verge of adminstration. In fact signing Le Fordre points to the opposite. I bet he's on about £20k maybe just a little less but I can't see Bolton paying all of that though. His agent probably got a nice bit of money out of Bolton and so did Le Fondre as a sweetener.

Bet all you want mate;) i never said bolton were paying it all, they are prepared to pay more of his wages, we either couldn't afford it or wernt prepared to pay it,catdiff wanted the best for them, they may not be in immediate danger but how long can they sustain this debt?,2yr,5yr....not forever

Simplr I don't believe what you say to be right, we had agreed terms with Cardiff for Adam le Fondre, like we did with Derby for Conor Sammon, we've now been snubbed twice it is very worrying. We agreed terms yes... To pay a percentage NOT all..Bolton offered to pay more of that percentage, saving Cardiff money...simple economics nothing to do with being snubbed despite what nixon or the rumour mill is saying, dont know anything about salmon though.

Hopefully they will be under a transfer embargo in the next window & can't sign anyone permanently.. That debt will catch up with them, especially now they don't get the parachute money.

Given that sky have just announced Chung Yong Li's transfer from Bolton to Crystal Palace ( for a fee ) won't now happen - as he's seeing his contract out and leaving on a free in summer - does this potentially change the Le Fondre deal for Bolton? They may having been counting on that transfer fee, and his large wages being off their books. It will be interesting to see whether or not they now back out of the deal! Can they now afford it! If that's the case we need to play hardball with Cardiff and him as they were happy enough to F@"% us over! This is of course if we are still interested.

Never mind about we should have a striker in by now
We should have had one in July! How we have got to the last week in January without addressing this is not good enough

obviously they can outspend us but even if we both offered the same brass its understandable, even though theres not a lot of distance in it, if a lancashire lad would chose to play/live in lancashire. i know if i could work in yorkshire for the same money (in the same job/league) as in lancashire it would be a no brainer.

Ha Didn't we have Rhodes then? We did but what difference would it make? People may say they are too similar but I'm telling you now, give any manager in the championship the chance to have Rhodes and Le Fondre in their starting line up and they'll snap your hand off. Funny that.

Funny that. I don't think they would. Clarke wouldn't even put Afobe and Rhodes in the same team during that long unbeaten run. Forget about the what have beens. Ron Yeates and Ian St John.

I don't really understand this to be honest. They are massively indebebted to their owner (who does not rank too highly on rich lists, not a billionaire and probably the same as Dean Hoyle?). No chance of paying the loan back unless they get to PL again. Very unlikely to do that in the next few seasons without spending loads more. Is there revenue stream that much bigger from a decade of PL action? the town of Bolton and their crowds aren't that big and I can't see a big overseas market. With FFP on top, how can they justify spending money like this? Will end in tears surely.

Bolton passed FFP, the debt is nil interest for ten years, we just made about £500k from Liverpool game , will get about same if replay is televised, the club now owns the hotel, and has a European grant to develop the area arround the ground. So the revenue is not just from the football side. CYL has a fracture in his leg which might explain why that move fell through, we are cutting our cloth, we played a36 year old alongside a 37 year old yesterday.
