Wigan 79/80. We won 2-1, it was a midweek game under flood lights. Happy days. Who out there has memories of that evening?

I once went there and saw us lose. 2-0 I think it was. Stood in front of the bus shelter at the top of the slope. There's one thing I'm not sure if I remembered right. As I recall we were wearing all white. I remember being disgusted that we would do such a thing. Anybody remember that?

Oldham in 1987.
We played in the yellow kit that is on my avatar. Lost 2-0 but missed a ludicrous amount of chances.

Gave me a taste of things to come, we got moved around the ground fairly lively by mounted police at the start of the game and the coach was bricked by friendly pie eaters at the end. A nice welcome to football league away games to a fourteen year old.
Massive 3points for us today well done Town would have loved to be there.

I think it was Rochdale on a Friday night - late '70s. We won, but I can't remember the score. Bricks were coming over the open end where we were situated, from outside the ground. The chant, "you're going home in a Rochdale ambulance" could have been quite prophetic!
A bit of argie bargie outside where Rochdale boys ran off with my driver's glasses - interesting journey home.

Gigg Lane Bury was my first ever Town away game in April 1966. Town won 4-0. Kevin McHale on 33 minutes, then three in four minutes on 53, 56 and 57 from Gilliver, Weston and McHale again.
Marvellous.

The first one I clearly remember (my dad was fanatical and dragged me along from a very early age) was a 3-0 win at Oldham in 83. It was brilliant!

My father took me to some before, but the first away game I remember was going to Anfield when we were sat at the top of the 1st division. We lost 4-0 in front of 52,000 and have never reached those dizzy heights again.

I live for the day I see our team in the top flight. 99 percent for me , Maybe just 1 percent to show all the glory hunters I live with and have come across.

Halifax around 1977. 0-0 & the most exciting thing was the pitch invasion when as usual the advertising boards collapsed.

I reckon it was Bradford, in the FA cup, we won, and it must have been circa 1992.
Perhaps the Iain Dunn game?
We were sat on the side, on the left as you're looking at the pitch from the away end behind the goal.

We had already beaten Blackpool 3-0 and Southampton 3-1 at home and were top of the league. I was only 9 but I remember the Town end was absolutely packed at Anfied.

First away game away at Chesterfield I think it was 1983. I couldn't remember score I just looked it up maybe it was the (1-0 town Lillis) what I do remember though was Town fans in fancy dress on the pitch and a lad dressed as The Pope taking penalty and kneeling down and kissing the spot. Was that the promotion season that happened. I was young but it made me think away games were where it's at. Done 76 grounds since and still counting.

Sheff Utd i think 85 or 86 cos Terry Curran was playing for us and he got non stop stick from their fans. Think we drew 1-1 and the other thing i recall is Phil Thompson played for Sheff Utd then! We had the yellow shirts with the Daihatsu logo.

Marvellous. Bury was my first away game in the F A Cup, i think it was the 67/68 season so i would be 9 yrs old. We went on the train with loads of Town fans and when we got to the ground, the gates were open so about 2/300 Town fans just walked in. I think we lost 1-0.

5/4/72 v L***s,managed to equalise but lost 3-1,46,000 gate and 80p and 40p in as opposed to 50p and 25 at town, hard to imagine those prices but 80p was a lot.
