you can t succeed in this div trying to play football, that 's where we've come unstuck. We 're against 'guard dogs defensively !Sheff Wed, Hudd, Rotherham. Mid table wonders. Tough Yorkshire 'grit' whether you like it , or not.Imagine any of these 3 in the prem, it would be laughable

Wigan in the premiership is currently one the biggest jokes in football. They are a tiny club who have benefited from a wealthy owner. They are a fourth division club really. Laughable.

It shows how money can give people a different perspective of their expectations.

I hope they stay up though, local, £20 in and pay on the day! Do for me!

If we'd had Hoyle 15 years earlier it'd just as easily be us with Wigan's recent history. Unfortunately in the football world of billionaires it makes much less of a difference now.

When they do end up in the lower divisions, and undoubtably they will, their stadium will be a real white elephant.

I saw Wigan at Wembley - when they lost to Scarborough in the FA Trophy in the 1970s!

All those sweaty uncouth players from rough (Yorkshire) clubs, when we're used to playing continental (sophisticated) football where one does not sweat at all... Oh dear.
Remind me how Chelsea, Man City, Southampton and Man Utd went on with their sophisticated (boring) football ...
Long live sweaty (hard working) football !

You shouldn't get so wound up by the odd pillock and end up sounding no better. But people are getting wound up about what was said on a WIGAN forum? Why can't they spout as much crap on their own forum as they like? Plenty on here do.....,....

Give us 3/4 years in the Prem, and I reckon you'd get people on here spouting the same against clubs like Wigan, Bolton and the like. Just your average live in a goldfish bowl style football fan ramblings...

At the end of the day there was and will always only be 1 team in Wigan and it's Wigan RFL.
The other escapade was just one rich man's retirement game.

I love how people wander onto another forum, see 1 negative post and use it to base an entire fan base on. Imagine if other fans base all Town fans on Nick?

remember some of the posts on here about the 'likes' of Stevenage etc etc...?
every team has some supporters who live in their own little world of history, crowd sizes etc etc..
Mourinho labelling the defeat yesterday as a 'disgrace' is a disgrace in itself..
Because you pay footballers fortunes every week does not automatically mean the brain dead wasters amongst them will not turn up and put in a nothing performance where they think they can go through the motions for their money..
That's your fault Jose, not theirs, you know how lazy and mindless they can be if allowed to be.
They not only got outscored, they got outplayed and outfought..
Jose, your face was a picture and worth the entrance money on its own..btw, no matter how well you do from now, the media are going to kick the arse out of yesterday for years to come..

I dont really see what is so funny about Town in the Premiership. Do I think we will get there? Probably not, there are too many much bigger clubs in the Championship who do not care about FPP, but I would love it if we did. We would probably be the whipping boys for a season or two (if we were lucky) then come back down, but the club would be in a much better financial shape if managed responsibly. The plus side is I would actually get to see some games on TV. I did notice that there are 6 teams in the Premier League that get lower than 25,000 average attendance. So in theory if we could sell out the Stadium we would not be the smallest club up there. Those clubs are WBA, Crystal Palace, Hull, Swansea, Burnley and QPR.

When Danny Wilson got promotion with Barnsley he was asked "How many of your players are good enough to play in the Premier League." His answer:- "All of them - but not in the same team"
It would be the same if we got promoted. We would make a fair few signings and thus not be "laughable"

Wigan should still have around £ 45 million of their parachute payments left to get them out of the shit. Mr Hoyle stated that town cannot financially compete with these premier league relegated clubs, but no point the likes of Wigan/Cardiff /Blackpool /Fulham having all that money when having poor management and players in place. Brentford and Ipswich have proven that you can get to the top by doing things on the cheap, and not end up £ 80 million in debt .
