The banner was a bit much, it wouldn't be allowed in England.

Belgium, its a rough place? ? you used to be able to have a 'reign of terror there with a balloon on a stick'..? if we have one that says 'we don't like Leeds' it would possibly be removed... decapitation?/ I smell outside influences....

The banner was a bit strong, although impressive in size. We ought to get one for Jordan Rhodes, depicting him pushing a wheelbarrow full of cash up the M62.
Might upset those fans that like to applaud him when he comes back though.

It was just a cartoon....nobody died, unless he killed somebody when he kicked the bag of air at the stands.

I think it's worse than just poor taste. Looks for all the world like a death threat to me and I can't believe it was allowed in the stadium tbh.

What responsibilities are you expecting from a group of Football fans? They want to express in the strongest possible way that they hate/are angry at him. It's a very violent expression, I get that. But there is no suggestion that he would ever actually be the victim of any kind of violence. If he is of course everything changes. To me it's a football crowd doing what football fans do, albeit they are pushing the boundaries of taste. Sure they knew it would cause offence, but so did Charlie Hebdo. Both are well within their rights to create a caricature in my opinion. Causing mild offence is not the end of the world.

I don't think im expecting too much to expect them not to bring beheading flags into the stadium . Im all for hatred and hostility ,,, I hate trying to sanitise football... but there is a line.... Do you think anything is fair game? Maybe a picture of someone raping his child? There has to be a line drawn somewhere,,, and it was crossed I m o

There has to be a line drawn somewhere,,, and it was crossed I m o I think a picture of somebody raping his child would be unacceptable yeah. The image of him being beheaded, it depends what you see when faced with it. If I received that image in the post from Islamic State I think we know what it would mean. If a footballer sees it at the stadium I find it way less intimidating because, clearly, it's an image of something that won't happen. It's not real. It's footy fans being daft, and I get why you think it's crossed the line. But to me it's really not as sinister as you're making out. It's absolutely not a death threat in my opinion. I don't like it particularly, but honestly I think you are over reacting when you see it as making life 'less sacrosanct'. Just a bit of silliness.

Because you can offend and are free to do so, does not mean you should.
There has to be a good reason to offend somebody, if there isn't you are just being offensive without cause.
I uphold the right to offend anyone if the statement made is true and is pertinent and valid in the context it is made.
Anything else is just being insulting and obnoxious.
The context and depiction in this case is not relevant or pertinent to the situation. As I said before there are outside influences on it.

a man being decapitated is not relevant in any way to a footballer playing for another team.. the phrase used has no relevance to the situation..
hell and death etc and other emotive words are used in parts of the world in relation to football, Belgium would never have been thought of as one of those countries??? recent events have altered that view..

So what you're saying is the recent IS stuff in Belgium has influenced it ? I agree.... Hence my line about the loss of sancrosacty of human life..( if that's a word) . In order to beat this shit decency has to return to the agenda , it almost feels like it's apeing the IS shit.... I might be talking tosh but that's how it feels to me

I see banners at big Derbies around the world depicting the home team or the away team or past glories of either club or particular players.. not sure I have seen many 'hate' ones outside of turkey or a few other clubs in racially/religously backward countries etc..
we knocked stupid ones here along with most of the inane chants a while ago.. Like I said being offensive just because you can be isn't a good enough reason..
